My theory is... because of the obvious connection between Elimination & the Hospital Stock, that hospitalization from Elimination is not considered (Let's assume that it's hospitalization and not medical items in market that fluctuate this stock).
It would be a "guaranteed profit" situation with the correlation between Elimination and Hospitalizations, that to not disconnect them would mean "everyone could get rich if they just used their head for five seconds to see the connection." Which is what you and I did, of course, by obviously having stocks and expecting their value to climb. At the end of the day, Torn is a game: Elimination is a sure fire thing, Hospitalization is a sure fire thing: that just spells profit. In real life though, this kind of "correlation" would never exist, so there's not an exact "guaranteed profit" situation (other than insider trading of course, haha).
To further the theory, the reason the value is going down: with ~14,000 participants in Elimination, that's ~14,000 less people getting "normally" hospitalized. So by removing Elimination participants, you could in effect believe that "hospitalization has gone down."
Merely theory! I too am upset that the stock isn't skyrocketing, because I expected the same, and see it continue to fall for some unknown reason. Last year, although in September the stock was 1,200, it took all year to gradually reach that - it wasn't a sudden shock when Elimination occurred - so that furthers my idea that Elimination just doesn't affect the hospital usage. Or, to your own idea, it's simply random (which would really, really ruin any immersion and totally blows).
Hi team, The "View Log" feature released displays the icon for "Open in new window/tab" before the text, however the URL does not open in a new window/tab, it takes over the existing one. There's also the possibility that this isn't really a bug and the icon is used erroneously, but that in itself is a defect. Could either: The log open in a new window, or, the icon be adjusted to not conflict with the new window/tab icon?
I had this same issue. Something is causing our happiness to decrease while not increasing our strength. I think it's trying to step on the black pad from the side, and not from the bottom. You can leave the jail and head to the candy shop to restore your happiness, then steal the watch to return. It is bugged but it's still solveable.

We only know what we know, and a lot of these questions are answered in the announcement.
1) "You can now receive multiple increments of stock dividends by owning double the cost of the last increment. For example, owning 2m shares in FHG will provide you with one Feathery Hotel Coupon per week, 4m additional shares will get you a second FHC, and 8m more shares will get you a third." - Therefore, there is no limit other than your wallet. If the first block is 100MM to afford, the second block is 200MM, followed by 400MM, then 800MM, etc, until you're broke.
2) "Stock dividends are no longer received at random intervals. They take a guaranteed 7 or 31 days and can then be withdrawn at your leisure." - At your leisure, so, they stack until you withdraw.
5) It's the last column labelled "Dividend". For example, TSB is a $50MM payout
6) It's a 10% Racing Skill boost. Your Racing Skill is the top left of the Racing Page. If your skill is 10, a 10% increase makes it 11.
9) "Buying and selling shares is now unlimited and instant; no more queues or waiting for more shares to be available." - Shares are unlimited, there is no longer a pool of shares, so they cannot be "sold out."
It's fine and all that sharing has been nerfed... but a little warning? How many players out there are holding someone else's stock block now (WSSB as an example, or, owning multiple blocks when you couldn't benefit from multiple), and can't even return it? I know I'm in that boat, both ways! People have my spare blocks and I have people's blocks... what a mess to clean up :(

Allow me to introduce Dr. Morpheus, a three-month old purebred Maine Coon that recently joined our family! He absolutely detested the jacket his mother bought him and fought his way out of it (As can be seen). Since he's a newbie, this is the only clothing I have for him, so we went a more "Torn" theme than Christmas (although the photoshoot was under the Christmas tree at least!). The glasses are not photoshopped (it really has that illusion) as he's gnawing on them like nobodies business.
At the time of writing this, there are 175 Ms. Torn entrants and 689 Mr. Torn entrants. The link to the leader board is subtly tucked away at the top, but there are 24 submissions per page.
Good morning, I've experienced this as well just now. At around 4:22 Torn Time, a Santa allotted me a T ornament. I clicked it to acknowledge what it does, but then the map froze (stopped allowing me to move), so I refreshed, and the ornament is now gone. Unsure about the other items because Santa is a really fast bugger and the screen went away before I could react; the T ornament is the only thing I can verify went missing. Thanks for your help in advance.
You had to be active to join Elimination (needed to pick a team). Since the stock price went down instead of up during Elimination, I'm not confident there's a correlation between stock price and player activeness.
Your reply was all I needed! It dawned on me: I haven't lost *any* of the links, they're in my browser history! I didn't even think that would work, but it turns out I can access quite a few logs so long as I have the unique URL. Glad you sparked my mind!
