Hey!

I made a tiny macOS menu bar companion for the Torn. It polls the Torn API on a short interval and keeps the important bits visible without opening the browser.

What it does

• Shows my energy, nerve, happy, and life bar
• Tracks drug/medical/booster cooldowns with ready state
• Shows travel status with destination + arrival countdown (and when I’m abroad)
• Tracks active chain count with a timeout warning + cooldown state
• Shows hospital/jail status with time remaining
• Shows unread messages with a one‑click inbox open
• Shows recent events
• Sends notifications for bar thresholds, cooldown ready, landing, chain expiring, and release
• Quick links grid with 8 editable Torn shortcuts
• Refresh interval controls (15s/30s/60s/2m), manual refresh, and “last updated”
• Launch at login toggle

Requirements

• macOS 13.0+
• Torn API key (https://www.torn.com/preferences.php#tab=api)

Installing unsigned builds
If you download an unsigned build, macOS Gatekeeper will block it. Use right‑click → Open, or System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.

Free, but tips welcome
You can use it totally free. If you like what you see, feel free to send me some Xanax as a tip - but there’s absolutely no need.

Quick update — just pushed v1.7.0 with a few things I've been wanting to add for a while.

What's new

Price Alerts on Watchlist

You can now set a price threshold on any watchlist item. Hit the bell icon, type your target price, and MacTorn will send you a macOS notification when the price drops below it. No more refreshing the item market every 5 minutes waiting for Xanax to dip.

Organized Crime Timer

The Faction tab now shows your active OCs with a live countdown. When an OC is ready to initiate, you get a green READY badge + push notification. No more missing OCs because you forgot to check.

Net Worth Dashboard

The Money tab got a major upgrade. Instead of just cash/vault/points, it now shows:

- Cash on hand + Vault + Cayman

- Property vaults (the data was already being fetched, just wasn't displayed lol)

- Stock holdings with cost basis

- Total tracked net worth at the bottom

Under the hood

- Bumped minimum macOS to 14.0 (Sonoma) — macOS 13 is EOL

- Fixed some deprecated API warnings

- Prepared codebase for Swift 6

New update, added quick actions when cooldown goes down (so you can easily take xanax/drink beers/draw blood). This is also configurable in settings to pick what booster thing you'd like to get shortcut to.
Some bugfixes and improvements under the hood too.
