So on a flight from China to Torn overnight daylight savings time ended and my one hour time remaining in flight became two hours remaining in flight. I am assuming there's nothing that can be done about this, that's just an hour lost.

Depends entirely on what you put in it before you break it. One time use and no exchange IIRC

I ran into the same problem on CST flying back from China was 1 hour and 11 out from Torn approximately and suddenly I was 2 hours and 10 out from Torn when the time rolled back.
