What catches my eye is not that Bernie is selling his soul to the Democratic party. The reality is that all of America is becoming extremely partison. I think the focus should be on the division within the Democratic party. They have used the policy of identity politics until a breaking point. This should bode well for Republicans but not for America. Go back to the civil war. Republicans stood as the part that fought the the south and the ruling Democrats and won. The problem is that complete power always corrupts. The Republican party became so corrupt that within a few years even ex- slaves stopped voting republican.
