I have made a php webpage used to serve custom updating signatures for profiles/forum usage (like ODB signatures). Like the ones Ched has, but with your own images, and if you can tinker php, with your own custom data.
You host it to your webserver, and you will be able to create custom signatures like the one on my signature, for your faction, your friends, and whoever you want. when a request is made to your image link, the script automatically updates the data using the API and recreates the image using GD, serving it for usage.
The script chooses a random api key from the array on each image request, it then requests the user data from api. It checks if the user is a member of the faction, loads the image, imprints the text data to the image and serves the image as an output. If you use the link as an "insert image" link in torn, each time this image is to be displayed , the script will update the image with a new updated version.
Due to running 1 API request per image request, you need a couple of API keys for it to work seamlessly. Experience shows that for a full faction to use the signature, and not having timeouts (due to api key usage restrictions) you will need 10 api keys (public ofc) for it to run.

When you had many replies on the same forum page (like rw memeposting) the requests piled up, so you eventually got a timeout. Now each signature is buffered on the server for 10seconds. This way the requests on the APII are really reduced for people that use signatures and use forums a lot. 10seconds is a sweetspot for not spamming with requests, but also not making "status" iinformation obsolete.
If anyone is unaware of how it works, if you are renting a PI in your spouse's name, you can move out of it, into a palace, get money from the palace vault or deposit money , and move back into the PI within the 15 minutes window and not lose your happy. So it's a good solution for having a vault if you don't own a PI. If you rent the PI yourself though, this doesn't work so well because you have to fire and re-hire staff if you leave.
