Is it the browser loading the inventory, or the db call? Because I guess that makes more sense

Had a random thought for a "fix" maybe.
How about actually deleting the deleted accounts and abandoned/marked for deletion accounts that could be clogging up the inventory backend?

There's no easy fix.
The game's just showing its age and needs massive overhaul to backend. The fact someone can even effect a server by hording so much is unfathomable in the industry today. Granted, its a text based game and limited compared to its counterparts, but the fact you can crash peoples browsers with a display case, let alone the game with a non-capped inventory is pretty unfortunate.
The real kicker is punishing players for their incompetence/oversights. That's not okay.
