The vehicle smelled of stale cigarettes and expensive cologne, but from the iconic twin RRs on the steering wheel I was able to make the car as a Roll Royce. A luxurious beauty I’ve only dreamed of owning myself. This one was extensively kitted out with a steel reinforced roll cage and about a cinderblock thick of bulletproof glass for the windows.
”What’s your purpose in this city, boy?” Phoenix asked, breaking my observation and silence.
Between the confusion of who this man is and where we are going at gunpoint I didn’t answer in time.
”Vendetta? You pumping morphine into these streets?”
”I don’t even know who the f**k you are, man. What’s this shit about?” I hissed back.
“You watch how you speak to me before I cut that tongue out of your mouth. You stopped our good pal Dukes nephew from getting robbed, I’m sure you remember?”
I nodded, not sure if I was about to be dealt with and tossed into the next alley for stopping the hit or these where actually his people.
“You dropped your wallet so consider yourself lucky the kid picked it up, returned it to his uncle and your social wasn’t sold on the deep web for chump change.”
We pulled up to a city garage grey enough to hide in plain daylight, but dry enough to set aflame from the suns simple encouragement.
”Garage pin code is #365. Enter that then take either the Toyota or Chevy, comeback and take the other later I don’t care. Your efforts were appreciated by the right people yadda yadda merry f**kin’ Easter.” Phoenix explained.
I tried not to interrupt “What? I can’t take this shit Is it legal? I thought somebody wanted to talk to me? Huh?”
“Don’t trash the Obama phone in the glove box and when it rings, I’d answer it.”
And just like that the very moment my foot was level to the ground the wheels rolled past my feet so quickly it looked like the world spun for a second.
“Phone in the glovebox huh?”
I opened the hinge and sure enough I found a small, grey, beat up cellphone with 2 bars of battery.
“What kind of shit is this?”
I closed the box, roared the engine on the Chevy Malibu and took off for my apartment awaiting my phone call.

My journeys in Torn are well worth a million words, honestly. I couldn’t fathom for the pathetic life of me the bars this city raises on a daily basis. I wonder all the time if back home my family and friends truly know what lay for them or anybody on this plot of land. They hear stories of glory and riches, but If only they knew that your innocence was completely stripped from you at the citys gate, they too would understand.
The sky is a murky grey with buildings stretching into the abyss barely poking the clouds with skyscrapers that look almost as if Vegas and NewYork had a baby together. A baby they never wanted, balled up and shot into a trash can. The rock that has never moved. A place full of wealth yet a homeless man could of stashed 2 million dollars into a piggy bank before being mercilessly mugged for his scraps and you would never know it.
I’ve “slutted” (as they call it) to make a decent earning my first few weeks in the city. It’s a shameful common practice where somebody will pay you a pretty penny to stage a fight and kick your ass in front of whom they want to uplift their respects. It wasn’t pleasant doing so, but I made my penny well and with it came necessities and bills paid. Merchants flood the streets making their honest well paid living either selling bundles of roses, alcohol, drugs or whatever the streets demand.
My time here has been productive. It has to be in this environment of survival of the fittest where the only achievement that you can take pride in is to be alive at the end of the night.
I left my apartment yesterday to be stopped by a tall sleek looking man dressed in all black who appeared from a car even darker than his trench coat.
”Blanco?” he asked, raising a 9mm from his leather jacket.
“Our buddy Duke wants to speak with you, I’m Phoenix. Get in.”

False. Only because my bank account is staler than my bong water
The next person is worth a couple bill
The next person is worth a couple bill
You sent $7,000 to LordEnygma with the message: Take my pathetic offer, good sir.
And then Jesus yelled, “Lazarus, you can come out!” And the dead man came out, his hands bound with bongs, his face wrapped in keef. Jesus told them, “He lives!”
You sent a Toyota MR2 to CRHull with the message: Thank you for existing!
Rules please ?
