I'm actually not a big hip-hop fan, I'm more into metal and grunge, but My Name Is, Lose Yourself, Mockingbird, Stan, 25 to Life, Guilty Conscience, they're all great. Since rap is all about lyrics rather than music, I appreciate how much thought went in to some of those lines. I guess I don't mind Rap God but while it shows off his skill, it's not really that deep. I also like how songs like Stan and Guilty Conscience tell stories, songs that do that are severely underrated imo. He's basically doing the opposite of what TOOL did with their 2019 release. TOOL wrote an entire song about how they know they won't be relevant to the new generation. Eminem can't accept that he's fallen off so he just continues to churn out half-assed verses that would make '99 Eminem cringe. I just think he needs to stop before he really embarrasses himself.

Revival sucked. Kamikaze sucked. This was no better. Thoroughly disappointed in every new release, except for maybe the one where he was like "I once met a contortionist, I said 'when you wanna get sexual?' 'Whenever it fits your schedule, don't worry, I'm flexible' lol.

Honestly I didn't think much of it at first either and I kind of still don't, but Invincible, 7empest and Descending have certainly grown on me to varying degrees. I kind of like the lyrical change of pace, I feel like this album was their first real admission of being (more or less) human, as compared to their usual 'We are the gods of music' approach. They're recognizing that they're no longer relevant to as many people as they once were, and I think that's beautifully sad. But yes, Chocolate Chip Trip was a MAJOR dissapointment.

Atmospheric Black Metal is the best!
