I'm wondering what my options are for increasing my work stats (Manual Labor, Intelligence and Endurance) the fastest. I know that you can either:
A. Join a player owned company that does rotational trainings (Slow but cheap, only levels 2 of the 3 stats) B. Join a player owned company and pay for training (More expensive, only levels 2 of the 3 stats unless the owner rotates your roles) C. Join Education and use job points to increase your stats for free. (Can level all 3 at my own choosing using job points, but not sure if the most efficient way)
I'm leaning towards option C, the eventual goal is two fold: 1) Get all the merits associated with work stats (i.e. - 100K in each one) 2) Get high enough job stats to join a more lucrative player owned company (oil rig, TV or logistics)
Joining a player owned company would require switching jobs and depending on the owner to stay on top of training and switching my roles as well since you only get 2 of the 3 work stats when you train. I really want to avoid paying for trains...so option B isn't really a consideration for me.
My question is this: Given my goals, is joining education and just doing it myself using job points the most efficient way or is there another option I'm not aware of? The less I have to depend on others the better, but I'm still relatively new enough to the game that maybe there is a better option.
This is 100% the most important post to take away from this thread.
If you decide to pursue hacking now (pre PA OCs), you are essentially going to delay yourself from getting on a PA team. The upside of pursuing Hacking before being on a PA team is that you'll actually be making a lot more upfront cash that you can then invest in good dividend stocks like FHC, etc...
I'm sure someone could model out how long it would take a player who decides to spam Fraud crimes to join a PA team as soon as possible (and then does hacking once they are on a PA team) vs. a full time hacking player, but I personally think the break even point is much farther out than many realize.
From speaking with some of my family that has gone through cancer, your attitude and positivity will make a difference as you literally are fighting for your life.
I hope nothing but the best for you and your family as you fight this disease together.
Thanks to the leadership for getting us as far as you did...tbh, when the competition first kicked off I thought we'd be one of the first teams out. Really appreciate the efforts of the team.

I didn’t have much growing up but my parents did the best they could.
One year, the only thing I got for Xmas was a TI-82 calculator and a card with a note promising to pay for my AP Calculus test fees. At the time I was slightly disappointed but understood because it was so expensive. It didn’t help that other kids my age were getting things like cars, a Super NES and ski trips (I went to a school with a few rich kids)
Looking back at it now, it was probably the best Xmas I ever got to spend with my family and it was also one of the last we got to spend together. Thanks Mom and Dad for trying so hard to make this kid feel special every Xmas.
Also - I’m Asian, so the comedy of only getting a calculator for Xmas one year makes the story even better when I look back at it.
Merry Xmas all!
Special thanks to Duke for not giving me the Loan Shark merit despite my best efforts, screw you buddy!
