Personally, out of all this, I’m just surprised he wanted to fuck his account so badly given that it’s over 18.

It’s absolutely horrible the bullshit the father has had to put up with. I’ve avoided social media more than usual before I keep videos of divorced mums talking about how their intuition knows the father did it.

Honestly, I have no idea whether she was psychotic or not at the time, doesn’t really matter too much in my opinion, she clearly needs to be under care or lock and key for the rest of her life.

bogie acting like he ain’t responsible for this cesspit in the first place.

Either delete it or don’t but don’t whine about something you made in the first place to be a cesspit away from everyone else.

You’d think he’s doing this in a volunteer basis or something

Yeah this seemed mostly political to me. I think he’s pretty well aware that it’s the primary talking point used against him and pushed in the whole culture war side of things.

Making some loud and clear actions to cover off that “exposure” (I put it in quotes cause he’s really done nothing wrong on that front, but media will try to imply he has) helps him solidify his mandate and ability to keep things moving.

He got a lot of the big ticket things he campaigned on down, so now he’s looking forward to make sure he has a clear runway forward.

I don’t love it, but I also don’t like international leaders shitting on domestic leaders abroad and trying to stir a frenzy up based on lies and rhetoric.

I thought conflating Jews with Israel with anti-Semitic? But now you’re telling me that’s not at all the case, and I actually must treat the two as the same?

They’re useful, my fiance works in the dental field. But they’re also not complex courses and skills that require a multi-year bachelor.

It’s easily taught in a a year or two diploma, it’s not a whole lot more than operating some scanners, handing tools and charting etc

I don’t think university should necessarily be used to provide specific vocational training for all jobs, it should touch foundational knowledge and skill sets to grow that knowledge and frameworks for growth.

Education and job training reform ·

I don’t think that’s entirely true, my countries loan model keeps interest written off as long as you’re present in the country contributing.

Something like that would allow people to ensure their skills are put to the US without burying them in lifelong debt that everyone knows will never get paid.

We also automatically deduct X% off your pay in NZ over a threshold to clawback the threshold, and if you leave and let your government loan grow too much, you’ll be arrested coming home to visit your family. There’s certainly tools that could be used to have a more successful administration of the loan.

Worth mentioning the average cost for a degree is $21,000 for 3 years, so the debt is also realistic to pay down and people don’t feel like there’s no reason to even begin.

I guess I don’t see them as purely financial investments, they shouldn’t necessarily net positive money in my eyes, but people should be on the hook still for them. Those degrees might not correlate to tangible goods and economic value, but they certainly drive intangible value, and I’d be concerned that we realised we undervalued those intangibles when it’s too late

Yeah, it’s his job, he’ll do what he gotta do and he’s not going to stop the gravy train when it’s moving full speed

From what I saw, he’s actually putting forward motions to claim that the case was so weak that the judge should rule not guilty.

Load of bollocks either way, but dude is a defense lawyer getting his bag, it’s what he’ll do, lots of gullible schmucks out there who will send money to pay for his legal fees until the end of time if it was required

Education and job training reform ·

Mixed bag, English Lit, Music and Fine Arts are pretty important that I think a 4 year degree is pretty useful. Others seem more like specific training courses I’d think would be done outside of a bachelor probably.

That being said, I wonder how many loans they were really issuing for a lot of these. You could probably cover these for the price of a few patriot interceptors being used to shoot down a $20,000 drone

It’d also be worth considering if the loan model could be done better to protect those loans and increase the amount of return on them.

Yeah I think he basically brushed it off and didn’t want to get directly involved, which was smart.

From what I understand she couldn’t be pardoned because it’s a state crime? But either way the defense lawyer was very happy to ask him to use his influence to help.

From the pedo protecting defense lawyer who was gargling trumps nuts just a few weeks ago asking for a pardon.

all they do is make entirely unacademic points in unacademic ways and then runs to hide behind “being an academic”

Oh God PorpoiseJester is doing their whole “I’m so enlightened I contribute nothing to politics” schtick again.

Yea everyone is equally the worst human being and merely discussing the concept is akin to being a mindless drone in the cogs.

Do you try this shit on the P&L forums cause it wouldn’t make the cut in any actual academic debate?

Woah no way, a “leftist” in one of the most aggressively capitalist nations is commonly used to refer to people who aren’t full blown communists? How will the academics cope.

I’m sure the different isn’t superficial or non-existent to those affected by the policy changes of one or another. But of course as along as they align with the correct academic terminology, that’s the main thing.

Sorry though, I didn’t co-author one line in a paper that no one will read.

Given how many Russians are being cut down to gain a single square KM in Ukraine, I think we there’s plenty of people to pay to do the job.

Give Ukraine 100,000 more drones and a billion more foot of fibre optic cable and let them keep pulverizing the Russians
