Introducing the Frequent Flyer program WindBonus · · 289 likes

With WLT WindBonus you earn better experiences from day one. No matter if you travel every day or just casually. Your WindBonus membership pays off in many different ways.

WindBonus members have better experiences besides earning points doing the things you do anyway, like travel, hunting and mugging abroad. Also we carbon off-set all flights booked by WindBonus members to keep the air in Torn free from smog and pollution.

How it works

As a WindBonus member you collect Basic points and Extra points. Your points can be used for faster flights, business class tickets or shopping in our exotic WindBonus shop where you will find goods unavailible from ordinary shops back in Torn city.

You earn Basic points when you fly with us. You earn Extra points through activities abroad such as hunting, mugging or collecting bounties.

Basic vs Extra points
  • You earn Basic points when you fly with us at WLT. Note that some flights bought through the WindBonus system may not qualify for earning points.
  • The more Basic points you earn, the faster you can reach the next level; Cesium, Uranium or Plutonium. Some rumours say that a level beyond Plutonium exist called Tornium, however unless you really enjoy to fly that will not be something for you.
  • Each membership level has a required number of Basic Points that you have to reach within your personal qualification period (your 12 months qualification period starts the month you joined).
  • You earn Extra points from our abroad activities.
  • You also earn Extra points equal to your Basic points from flights.
  • Extra points don't make you eligible to reach the next membership level.
  • Extra points can be used for things like faster flights, business class tickets and shopping.

WindBonus membership levels

There are lots of benefits to enjoy from day one and as you level up the benefits and rewards just get better and better.

WindBonus has 4 ordinary membership levels: Basic, Cesium, Uranium and Plutonium. You always start as a Basic member. The more you travel during your personal 12-month qualification period, the faster you reach the next level and enjoy more benefits.

Basic

Sign up by purchasing the Basic membership card at Bits and Bob and start earning points to level up and unlock exclusive rewards. The more you fly, the greater the rewards.
  • Earn points on things like flights, abroad activities and daily missions.
  • Basic flights are free of charge. (see misc section)
  • Gain access to a new travel based mission giver capped at easy missions. Completing these missions will grant a sizeable amount of either Basic or Extra points.
  • Also grants access to the WindBonus shop.

Cesium

Live life just a bit better. Check out the benefits you always enjoy as a Cesium member when traveling with Wind Lines Travel.
  • As a Cesium member you keep all the benefits you had as a WLT WindBonus Member.
  • Gain the Cesium member merit.
  • Use the Business check-in counter at the airport to extend the mug protection by an additional 5 seconds.
  • Check in one extra small suitcase with up to 2 extra travel items.
  • Earn 10% more Basic and Extra points from any source.
  • Unlocks the medium level missions for a greater reward.

Uranium

Far calmer and more convenient. As a Uranium member, you can truly enjoy a great experience. Here are the benefits you always enjoy as a Uranium member when traveling with Wind Lines Travel:
  • As a Uranium member you keep the benefits you had as a Cesium member.
  • Gain the Uranium member merit.
  • Check in one extra medium suitcase instead of the small one with up to 3 extra travel items.
  • Your spouse will gain the benefits of a Cesium member as long as you stay married.
  • Uranium priority on waiting lists. During temporary suspension of ordinary flights (caused by dirty bombs) only a limited amount of flights will be be availible. The priority will vastly improve your chance of getting on a flight when this happens.
  • Earn 25 % more Basic and Extra points from any source.
  • Flight delays will only be half as effective on you.
  • Unlocks the hard level missions for a yet greater reward.
  • Give a WindBonus Cesium membership to a friend once a year.(Or sell it, maybe someone who can't be bothered to fly often would find this interesting enough to pay for)

Plutonium

As a Plutonium member, you enjoy the best services the airport has to offer. Here are the benefits you always enjoy as a Plutonium member when traveling with Wind Lines Travel:
  • As a Plutonium member you keep all the benefits you had as a Uranium member.
  • Gain the Plutonium member merit.
  • Your spouse will instead gain the benefits of a Uranium member as long as you stay married.
  • Earn 40 % more Basic and Extra points from any source.
  • Check in one extra Large suitcase instead of the medium one with up to 4 extra travel items.
  • You are unaffected by Flight delays.
  • You have the highest priority on waiting lists.
  • Unlocks the very hard level missions for the greatest rewards.
  • Give a WindBonus Uranium membership and a Cesium membership to a friend once a year.

Tornium

This is the most exclusive membership level that only a select few extreme flyers will experience. The only way to obtain this membership level is to receive an invitation from Chedburn himself. To not cause envy the list of bonuses are kept secret among the select few members but if you ask one nicely perhaps you will find yourself as a Plutonium member in the near future.

The WindBonus shop

Visit our WindBonus shop and use your points on one of the many things you find here. The shop has something to offer for most occasions. Here are some of the things you will be able to purchase with your Extra points:
  • Plushies
  • Flowers
  • Business class tickets
  • Gift cards that grants Basic points on use
  • Exclusive new cosmetic clothing and accessories
  • Weapon caches
  • Books
The price range of these items will change from time to time, so make sure to spend your Extra points when you feel the price is suitable. However, if you wait too long the item may no longer be availible since other players will be looking for the best deals in this shared pool of limited items.

Earning points

The exact rate at which you earn points are TBD, but longer base flight time will increase the points you earn per flight, with a flat bonus if you use a BCT (note - this bonus is only obtained if you spend a BCT, so the 10* lingerie store bonus will only shorten the flight) so if you really want to earn points fast you could ping pong to mexico with BCT nonstop, if your wallet is thick enough that is.

Completing the new travel based missions will be a large source of point generation and you can further increase your point generation by doing things abroad such as hunting, mugging or collecting bounties.

Miscellaneous

The faction perk that used to reduce the cost of basic flights has been changed since basic membership removes the cost. It now instead grants a stacking 5% bonus point generation for the faction members. The requirement for this perk is based on how many basic points your faction members have generated in total.

Thanks for traveling with us at Wind Lines Travel and have a wonderful flight!

Age 171 and hit 100.001 hunting skill · · 101 likes

Okay so here I broke two world records; Fastest player to reach 100 hunting skill and the only player breaking 100 hunting skill and actually reaching 100.001!

How is it possible to get past 100 hunting skill you might ask, well you need to plan for it!

0.0003 skill gain per hunt is the default growth value after 98 skill is reached.

0.0004 skill gain per hunt if you are working in a meat warehouse 7*, which yields +25% hunting skill which rounds up the skill gain and actually increase it by 33%

0.0019 skill gain per hunt with meat warehouse + tigers day and if you manage your hunting skill to be 99.9999 while waiting for tigers day you can get up to 100.0018 hunting skill, but the skill screen will only show the first 3 digits, thus 100.001.

So, until someone Beats one or two of these records, I hereby name myself the greatest hunter in Torn!

How to boost a friend to level 15 in under 48hours · · 189 likes

Greetings y'all, you might wonder why I made a leveling guide when there's quite a few leveling guides availible already. The reason is that most guides are bloated by a lot of things and aimed to be read by a beginner. This guide is not intended to be read by a new player, it's intended to be read by a current player who wish to recruit a friend to the game and give them a speedrun boost to level 15.

To fully utilize this guide you will have to spend roughly $45m to boost your friend, however since you have recruited your friend you will get 250points + 2 special items back day one when your friend reach level 10 and then the same reward again at level 20 etc, so it's just a temporary monetary loss.

Okay, so let's get started! Look at the shopping list half a page down and buy those items, then send your recruitment link to your friend who makes an account. Send the items you bought and tell your friend to follow these steps:

Go to the item page and use the Donator Pack along with equiping the Macana.

Go to this link https://www.torn.com/preferences.php#tab=email-subscriptions and click on the “Resend Seasonal Newsletter” and you will recieve a mail from Torn with a link, once you click on that link you will recieve 250 energy, however do NOT click it yet, just have it ready.

Start out by completing mission after mission (https://www.torn.com/loader.php?sid=missions) until you get a mission that rewards you with 500 energy upon completion. Complete this mission and now you can click on the link in your mailbox and your energy will be roughly 850.

Happiness resets every 15min, so wait until the next time the clock is :00, :15, :30 or :45 and then use the 5x erotic dvds and after that you eat your ecstacy. You will now have 850 energy and roughly 25k happiness and you can go to the gym (Note that you only have 15min to complete the training before the happiness is lost). Train 20x speed and 20x dexterity, this will cause the next gym to unlock, purchase it and then train 100x defense in the new gym to unlock the third gym, purchase it and use the remaining energy to gym strength (around 30x) and then go to pointspage (https://www.torn.com/points.php) and use 25 points for an energy refill and return to the gym to train strength x30 again. Your stats will be roughly 350 spd/dex, 1500 str and 2400 def and that's more than enough to easilly defeat any of the leveling targets in Baldrs guide (https://www.torn.com/forums.php#/p=threads&f=61&t=16034448&b=0&a=0&to=18301173) without having to med up in between attacks.

Now use xanax on cooldown aswell as refilling your energy bar when a new day rises and attack as high level target as possible, focus on crazydave (https://www.torn.com/profiles.php?XID=320161) since he is level 32 and thus will yield more experience and remember to only leave them on the street since mugging will only yield a few dollars and it suffers a penalty to the experience gained.

Don't waste any energy on gym, dump or whatever, just keep attacking and leaving them on the street and you will be level 15 by the fifth xanax so at the end of your second day you can farm some karma in achievement forum by saying you reached level 15 by age 1.

FAQ

Q: Wait what, you forgot to write about moving out of the shack and into a PI!
A:This is a speed guide, by the time you get enough happiness to make a difference from a PI you should already be level 15, but sure if you really want to you can move into PI and spam some box of tissues to slightly increase your happiness before using the edvd. This will however not speed up your leveling since you will have several times more stats than you need at this stage of the game.

Q: I don't have money for DP and edvd, can I do this a cheaper way?
A: Sure, go for 49x big box of choco and buy 50 points instead of the DP (for 2xE-refills), this will grant enough combat stats to beat most of the leveling targets but some medical items will be needed to sustain theleveling process.

Q: What about factions and companies?
A: It takes 3 days before you gain access to company perks so that will not do anything for this guide, however joining a company is always a good idea. Faction well sure, if you can invite the target to a faction with some decent perks then go ahead, bonus to gym gains will help speed things up on the stat part.

Q: Why just a macana and no combat gear?
A: Well sure send some combat gear if you want, it's not needed for leveling targets though and you might aswell get the merit from unarmored attacks early, but whatever floats your boat.

Q: What to do with nerve and stuff?
A: If you are reading this guide then you know what to tell your friend about nerve usage, just give them Baldrs guide to read about that. This is purely a speedrun to 15, I wont discuss crime exp or racing or whatever, thats up to you to teach them.

Leopard skin unlocked at age 36 · · 40 likes

So I just unlocked the Leopard skin (req 75 hunting) at the age of 36!

When I started playing this game I tried to figure out what to do, I found some article about hunting and I wanted to reach 100, fast!

So I had to level to 15 as soon as possible in order to be able to fly and then figure out some optimized way to skill hunting. Two out of three hunting merits unlocked now, only the 100 skill remains, so let the hunt continue!

I have a suggestion at 250 R+s for a suggestion regarding making frequent travellers gain some additional bonuses depending on how often they fly.

Dexterity in torn · · 1 like

yeah but that doesnt really matter, going from 8 trillion def to 2 trillion def is still unbeatable where 8 trillion dex can be defeated by autohit

Dexterity in torn · · 5 likes

Everyone knows def is better than dex, so everyone pumps strength to offset others defense and barely trains speed, so dex becomes better due to overall lack of speed.

But then again, true shot weapon negates dex whores, nothing negates def whores

$10 MILLION Auction - ENDED ·

$4,190,001

Amusement Parks and No 10* Perk ·

That would make the supply of freerides increase while the demand remain the same, so could end up with freerides going from 600k per ride down to 300k per ride making the same daily income for the employees.

Hard to say though, but anyways amusement parks got a massive perk that increase your strength by 125% of base while under the influence of epi, no other perk can match that strength boost. While it's quite a niche usage for it sure, I'd argue that it's still strong enough for a subpar bonus such as freeride to be in its current state. But perhaps some minor tweak to it could be in order for sure.

5jp for a ketamine in a zoo on the other hand *cough cough* (though other perks in Zoo are strong enough to make up for it imo)

Amusement Parks and No 10* Perk ·

One thing to consider here is that every company has their uses at certain stages for certain players.

Improving a perk can make the company worse for players. While this sounds straight up wrong, let's have a look at an example.

Meat warehouse used to be seen as utter garbage so if you were a new player you could join a quite high star meat warehouse without much issues. I joined one on day 8 I believe, it was 7 or 8 star.

Later it got revamped and is now seen as quite good for players to do hacking crimes in due to the revamped 3* bonus. To do hacking crimes you want to have say around 40nnb and someone who has 40nnb will have far superior work stats than a greenleaf.

This will increase the average work stats for meat warehouse employees so hiring a new player will be less likely. So now for someone to get their hunting skill up and running as a new player will be far harder due to not meeting the requirements to join the meat warehouse.

You need to look at the perks of a company and ask what kind of player benefits from such perks and not make changes to hurt the group who wants to be in such company.

I agree that like theater 7* and amusement 10* and other perks like it that are disabled and have been for a long time should be changed as soon as possible, but don't ask for too much or you will end up like the lingerie store where company owners charges 20 millions as a weekly tax to their employees.

Has trained you from the company · · 4 likes

DocGooey, the director of Oregon Zoo hiring, has trained you from the company. You gained 50 END and 25 INT.

I've been thinking about this wording for a while, as I'm not a native english speaker I do sometimes have some problems with grammar and whatnots, but to me it sounds so off.

X has kicked you from the company -> Sure thing sounds good
X has trained you from the company -> Sounds off

So is that proper english or not?

Why do Factions hate it when a member sells losses · · 2 likes

I see some comments where people say something in line of selling losses is is low income per energy and thus is bad for the player and the faction leader(s) try to prevent the players from self harm.

I do not believe that to be the case. If you spend your energy doing revives instead you might get a xanax of value from it and it can cost you 75E if you don't have the perks for it.

Without perks it's roughly the same income per E as selling losses would be, but as far as I've seen or experienced you will not risk getting kicked out of the faction for doing revives.

Hunting is the same story, outside of tigers day you get an average of 400k per 25E spent hunting (160k per 10E but comparing to an attack in E) if you are at capped skill with all the perks active, so another way of not getting optimal value out of your energy (by optimal I mean more than the cost of the can to get the energy)

So what is the difference between slutting, hunting and reviving?

Hunting and reviving both adds value to the faction since you progress potential upgrades for the faction while slutting does not increase the value of the faction.

A faction is like a RL company, you work for your faction to make the faction owner wealthier, if they feel like someone else can make them wealthier than you can, then you get fired.

(Obviously there's exceptions to this where the faction leader(s) don't really care about money or power and just enjoy the community they have made, but the statements above is for most of the factions, I'd say roughly 90% of them)
