With all the Marvel universes and other Syfy movies and tv shows playing around with the multiverse and time travel; really makes your mind wonder.
My biggest 'What if.' thought is: What if this isn't Mankinds first time around. Kinda like the plot in the Moon fall movie. Where our ancient ancestors were so advanced they could build super structures among other mind bending things.
What it we had ancient ancestors who were advanced to travel the galaxy and play around with genetics of different species. Unexpectedly creatinng what we know as dinosaurs.
Being too unpredictable, violent and uncontrollable, our ancestors decided to create a apocalyptic event to eradicate the dinos. Like throwing a space rock at the planet just fast enough to not obliterate the planet.
As far as where our ancestors went while the planet recovered, who knows. They could be watching us from afar, like a weird science experiment, or they found a better planet to grow on.
