Introduction
This guide is cumulation of all of the information I could gather from the many experienced and helpful citizens of Torn city. I will credit all of you at the end of the guide. This literally wouldn't be possible without you.
I will try to keep this guide as up to date as possible and will continue pursuing the relevant information for as long as I remain a citizen of Torn.

As a new player I have a guide on how to start your career but
Baldr's basic advice is going to give you way more help and coverage, check it out!
And if I accidently provide false information or misleading information please let me know as I want everything to be up to date and accurate!
Starter JobsThe start of your Torn journey is going to give you the opportunity to build your work stats up at a starter job that isn't run by a player.
The starter jobs are currently: Army, Grocer, Casino, Medical, Education, Law and they all have their own positions. These jobs are going to pay shit but give you stats which are what you need to get into a player directed job and will earn you big bucks or give you insane perks.
I started as a Grocer thanks to Baldr but when I quit for a year I went into the army which helped me rack up a giant boost to my defense with the Jps.
For now I would probably save army jps just for statspy as it is in demand because of ranked war system. As a new player you probably want whatever gives the highest amount of work stats
Its worth mentioning here that any passive job skill you unlock here will be unlocked permanently and any job points you collect will be saved even after you quit that job for another, but you must return to the job to use those points.
If you plan on joining a reviver faction and being an angel on the battlefield, it is required that you reach the position of Brain surgeon to unlock the ability to revive.
Information can be found
here on all of the different type of starter jobs and their passives.

Alternate expensive play line for people looking to buy donator packs
In this resource you will find the mention of selling trains, but whos buying them?
Some people are willing to spend 30m every 2 days just to get their work stats up to reach a specific goal.
If you're new and have someone bankrolling you or you're buying donator packs and selling them, you can find your way into a 10* AN to buy trains AND get the happy boost to Edvds while
Happy jumping.
You can also buy trains for other companies at a cheaper rate, you can look for people selling trains on the forums or ask
hereDoing this can easily get you up to a good amount of work stats and get you into the job you want or even get you the 10k int required to unlock revivals.
If you have bought trains for an entirely different reason, or would like to add your reasons for doing so here please message me.
Your first/last player job and the basics Now you've reached a point where you feel you can land a real job with real people and real consequences. Well there's a ton of companies with different requirements/benefits but if you're following Baldrs beautiful new player guide, the recommendation is you start off in a Sweetshop. I heavily agree with this as its a great place to start with lower stats.
You can find a job from the
forums > Company recruitment or
newspaper > Job listingOnce you find a job you will have 3 days to settle in to the company before you can be trained but you will still gain your daily stat growth.
Every company is different and has different ways of operating. Sweetshops usually run at a loss and have different ways of making up the loss such as Tax, selling trains etc and its up to you and your boss to make sure you understand and follow their type of system, which is true for every company in the game.
The main reason you would want to join a Sweetshop first is because of this job special:
[image: i.imgur.com]for 15 points you gain an energy can that sells anywhere from 1.7m to 4mat the time of this writing which if you're a new player probably sounds game changing and if you're an old player you're probably thinking nothing, because you have 15 PI's and a display cabinet with the finest butter knives money can buy, or you're a gambling addict with 500 legendries nobody wants. Either way its an excellent place to start as a new player.
So you've landed your first big boy job, now what? Well you're going to have to wait. I know it sucks, but torn is a waiting game, mostly.
Each day at approx. 6 PM TCT you gain your job stats and job points (1per company star) and pay (if any) as well as Trains (1 per company star) are generated for the director to give out.
The only other real things you have to worry about in a company is your addiction modifier and activity
[image: i.imgur.com] go to the company page and find the employees tab its different on phone and browser for me but generally in the same area.
You want to make sure that your addiction negative does not get too high. All companies have stricter or more lenient views on what your number should be but a good rule of thumb is to keep it as low as possible. If you are level 15 or over, flying to Switzerland and using the rehab option there is the best way to eliminate it. But if you are under level 15 your main goal is to get to level 15 or you can either, not take drugs or wait off the modifier which takes a long time.
Congrats you are now a bonified freak 7 days a week!
Introduction to part 2The following is information gathered about every company that exists and more in depth explanations on how companies operate for citizens aspiring to either learn more or are interested in becoming a director.
Becoming a director takes time and cash and a lot more work than just being an employee but can be one of the most rewarding experiences in the game.
I have to thank everyone again for helping me on this section as its probably going to take quite some time for me to get it finished.
Treat your employees like people and they will take you to the top. Treat them like a business and you will still get to the top, but there will be lots of headache and frustration. - Tisoy79
Requirements and recommendationsto run a business you need to know about business, I know shocker! Luckily we have Educations to help us reach our every goal.
For me it took 186 days to fully complete the bachelor of commerce but I have 10/10 education length merits so without merits you're looking at over 220 days.
Once you have your Educations done you want to pickup the stock dividends of TCP and TGP. You would also want to grab SYS if you're worried about hackers taking cash from the company funds. AND if you're trying super hard you can also get MSG and YAZ to advertise in the newspaper and help recruit some employees.
Now that you're out more than half a billion and nearly a year of your life, you're finally ready to start directing!
Hahahaha just kidding you still need to buy/create a company to actually run.
You can find people selling their companies on the
forums > company discussion usually you want to get a pre-setup company as it would come with employees, your biggest asset. But I have known people who have built a company from the ground up (Shout outs Aezur for building the company I currently direct, and helping me along the way).
Once you have a company you're going to want to make sure everything is setup and upgrades are maxed out as well as stock and funds (you want to have some capital in the funds so you can run ads or pay your employees.
TornStats – Torn stats is a tool that lets you view a large amount of stats about torn city but for the scope of this guide I will be focusing on the companies tab. You can view all the details about your company and employees. One of the most useful features is the ability to input someone's work stats into your company as a test to see how they would affect your company. I also use it extensively to see who would be best to move between positions. I highly recommend giving it a look if you haven't already!
If you're having trouble running a company, or have questions on specific parts about a company that I may miss in this guide. My suggestion is, try messaging people who are currently running the company you are trying to figure out and ask them nicely to maybe give you some tips. That's what I'm doing to try and complete this guide in the first place! (Make sure you contact me so I can update this guide and have the most accurate information for others who follow!)
