Edit: if you think it's a dumb or bad idea, that's a valid opinion. "But that would be a disadvantage for me!" Okay. Again, I'm not saying this is something they *should* do, just that the premise is interesting. Thanks for reading.
Edit 2: "f**k no" and "this is a dumb idea" are valid responses. Sending me messages saying "delete this post now or I'll make you quit the game by putting constant bounties/hosping you" isn't. Thanks.
Premise: The higher your net worth, the more your battle stats are reduced.
Why: It'd be fun for "untouchable" citizens to feel what's it like to be one of us, just for a day. Also a little "revolutionish" for players to make a lot of $$$/take from the rich.
How: Battle stats reduced by some % based on your net worth - up to x%, (folks could come up with a good formula I'm sure)
Implementation: of course, the richers would hosp out or hide all their assets for this day. How to circumvent?
All of their assets are at stake. Stocks, investments, etc. The more liquid cash they keep in their wallet, the less likely they lose investments.
Higher % of money lost in mug.
Seems like the goal of the promos is to encourage user activity, I think something like this would do the trick, even for just a day.
Thoughts?
Edit: all attacks being stealthed to prevent retaliation would be a good addition
This is a very well thought out response. I appreciate the thought. I thought it'd be a fun idea to promote activity and flip the community for a day. Fair to say a lot of folks find that to be unfair.
I appreciate you responding to my idea with valid points, and not simply "I don't like it because it doesn't benefit me" and not sending me threatening messages haha
Thank you for looking into the numbers. I suppose untouchable players will always be untouchable.
I think the point you made, that this would make wealthier players the *only* targets, is the part of this idea that is bad.
In the abstract sense, allowing a player who has played the game for one year have a chance against one who has played it for three years is a pretty cool idea, I think. Not that the higher NW player automatically loses, which is how some people interpreted it.
The challenge is, there's no benefit for the higher NW player to go after lower NW players, which makes it a bad challenge.
Well, by definition the players with the highest net worth are the most active players. You don't want to lose them, for sure. Would they revolt because of one day where they're at a relative disadvantage? Or would players of average-activity drastically increase their activity?
I'm not saying we should do it because "I deserve their money" (or even that we *should* do it at all, necessarily) but that it'd be a fun way to "even the playing field" so to speak.
If players who are very active with a high net worth get upset about it, that kind of fits the theme ?
