A burning question I have · · 1 like

Not too long ago I found an SE in the city, to be specific, Boxing Gloves.

It got me wondering where these items even come from and what factors affect it. Could it be RNG? Yes. Could it be based off of nothing at all and I’m wasting my time? Also yes. [background color=var(--bbc-body-bg-color)]Could it be Torn’s squashed cockroach dropping items to bless us all? Probably not. But I’m bored, and I’m gonna delve into this common yet mysterious occurrence.[/background]

Supposing that you’re an actual person in Torn City, that would mean scouring across the entire map to find items of which have random values. Did players drop them? But due to the “laws” (AKA controls) of Torn, citizens are prohibited from dropping items anywhere other than the dump. So did these player dump them in the dump itself? No.

Or at least I hope someone didn’t throw an SE in there. Dump items are dumped in the dump. The dumped items aren’t dumped anywhere else than the dump, thus all the dump must be dumped to the dump.

So instead of being the person, let’s be the player.

RNG? Probably.

But let’s explore other options. What if Chedburn was getting his own items and placing them in the city? As creator of Torn, that’s possible. And considering he’s rich... well, let’s just say I think he would do that for the good of his people. Once again, the dump dumped in the dump can’t be found in the city as that’s against Torn controls. Maybe Cheddie could help us out with that one.

What if the NPCs were actually dropping them every once in a while? Leslie could’ve dropped those Boxing Gloves, right? Absolutely. However, the NPCs would probably all be too stingy to actually give them away.

And everyone knows that Duke is confined to his Mission Closet, wherever that is, Leslie is trapped in the Casino, etc etc. So they couldn’t have dropped them. But there’s one more option.

Maybe there are players who are specifically assigned to give players items when they see fit, hired by admins and such in secret. They could be given items to give to any player ever, and perhaps they even control where in the city these items appear. This would be much easier than my Chedburn idea. Giving gifts to players one at a time will never be efficient.

So in summary, the items in the city could be from Chedburn, NPCs or by secret agents.

Or just through RNG.

Don’t question, I’m bored and there’s nothing you can do about it.

Ever wondered how your avatar can be so incredibly happy while getting smothered to smithereens by other players?

I mean, it’s Torn city, what do you expect. Maybe everyone here is constantly high, like it’s a biological thing, and we’re just too happy to care. It’s Torn, once again, and without this biological advantage we would probably all suicide yesterday.

Trick or Treat Surprise ·

Wow, the things people do for Halloween... truly wicked. I have dog sh*t, anyone I should use it on? Also good prank, those people truly were gullible (sorry not sorry). Yes I like moustache, why do you ask?

I believe in moustache supremacy ?

A very sweet blessing, short yet simple, something we should all appreciate and treat dearly. I’m exaggerating, but still, thanks dude.

I went to the store and found some weird-looking eggs.
Now I can't find them.
I'm pretty sure they've been mislaid.
