don't worry my friend... I thought that too until just a week ago.
It's still smart to get them so you have less failures at lower levels of NNB, currently many crimes cap out at 45NNB if I've understood correctly and that's when these merits become obsolete currently.
Crimes 2.0 has been in the works for a while and when it releases I believe these merits will then again be useful for all NNBs.
