Just decided to open up a bit this new years day. We make our own fun in TORN, could be boring, could be exciting, but damn well it shouldn't be discrimination...
I have decided to help stop cruelty to animals in TORN City this new years day and thought all the animals deserve their right to have a front row seat to some fireworks.
Many cities frown upon the fact that us 2-legged beings enjoy some loud noise and proper displays of pretty exploding stars of our own making. Somtimes even enjoying a snog with our pretty wives during these displays. Apparently they don't like these things to occur near their pets and other neighborhood fauna because they think this might traumatize some of these furries.
I honestly think this discrimination against animals enjoying fireworks needs to end and thus, at midnight a colorful mix of TNT was placed on a timer in each of the zoo animal's enclosures. These critters thoroughly enjoyed the fireworks proven by the fact that the zoo was painted completely red by them. Well done to these furries and scaleys.

So I am currently on 176 days with 9 days something play time. Still kinda new(ish) and a very mediocre player. Thoroughly enjoying the game tho, and guess I will continue to do so unless something untoward happen to me or my internet connection...😅
Anyway, saw this thread scrolling along the top of my screen and once again decided to deliver my 2 cents.
"Torn is unfair to new players."
Reading this, my first thought was to slap you, and then ask "would you like some cheese with that whine?" Your opinionated statement could be the epitome of what threads should be graveyarded asap.
TORN could be likened to real life, with the formula of (Time x Persistence x Intelligence) = Measure of success. Naturally it's not as cut and dried as my math statement, since many other factors could influence a major part of your success in TORN, eg. Faction, friends and to a very small degree for a new player, luck.
If any of the three inputs toward the "measure of success" is close to, or 0, nil, zilch, nadda, nothing. Then you won't succeed. This applies to life too.
Your opinion as to the unfair nature of TORN, what do you want from the game? What do think the HOF top 100 players in this city have contributed towards, dedicated to their profiles and also character development over the last 16 years of playing? You want to catch up? Then play the game smart, diligent, drop your pride and seek help if you need it and set goals for yourself. Maybe one day, you could find your profile also in the HOF top 100.
Your "this game's not fair", snowflake entitlement attitude will probably set you back weeks with a poked hornet's nest of anyone with an AK47 or lead pipe, beefy enough to outclass your account who want to show you the ropes to toughen you up in TORN.
You probably have the same mentality IRL, right? Do you compare your life to Gates, Musk, Buffet, Jobs or any other rich brilliant people and yell "not fair!" I also want to be rich, smart and a billionaire. They worked for it, over a long dedicated career, with smarts and intelligence established themselves at the top of the 1% on earth.
Torn is like this too. Wanting to compare yourself to the top 100, but you're an infant, maybe even less than that in the grand scheme of TORN, makes you not just look like a selfish communist prick, but also a little moronic to boot.
I have been and can be an idiot player as well, by bountying a lvl 70 behemoth with a maxed out guild and inadvertently interrupted a chain for said guild, and I'm sure I'll continue to do silly little things like this. I suck up the consequences of my actions and one day, i too will be a beefy behemoth. But i know my effort and diligence will be rewarded, one energy refill at a time, one xanax at a time.
Stop begging for 🧀 with your whine and enjoy Torn. It's a game which tremendously rewards anyone who plays for years and longer. Yelling "not fair" on the forums, is the exact thing you should NOT be doing. Really wonder how long this thread will keep you popular enough to get slaughtered in the city. And every time you do, I'm sure it'll make me smile as i walk towards my next victim.
I'm a mediocre new(ish) player and never had a chance to get any BB for any of the perks or usable stocks, since there was never any stocks for sale. Always stuck at '0' available to buy.
With the new system, rich players can benefit much more and plebs like me actually stand a chance to one day own a BB that would be worth owning.
Spiders too large to kill with a baseball bat. Buried alive. Drowning Burning alive. Being gang ****d. Vampires, monsters under my bed and Baba Yaga. Dying alone having lived a worthless life.

Happy to see thread like this. Especially since I'm still quite new. Merry Christmas to all and remember, Karma comes back,l so be nice. At least today. Tomorrow.... well lets continue to murder, back-stab, bribe, scheme, lie and cheat. This is Torn, get used to the jungle.
