I would like to see what avenues open up to me. I am still at a low level and I'm still getting my head around the complexity of the game. This complexity and the multi-faceted levels of Torn have probably been my best takeaway of 2020. I will certainly only remember this year for two things: the virus that should not be named and discovering this game. Due to the WFH situation I ended up spending most of my day waiting for tasks from work, reading online newspapers and being bored out of my head. Until Torn! Having got into it, I happily donated, but I didn't feel pressured to do so, unlike other so-called money drains games. I guess this is all a long-winded way of saying 'whatever will be will be', and I look forward to starting the new year with a purpose (whatever that will turn out to be).
Hi, I don't know if I am allowed to have an opinion yet, LOL. To me the use of the asterisked f**k suggests a level of restraint that shows that there is a kind of line in the sand. I think a certain consensus of morality exists, even in a game which normalizes (glorifies?) crime and drug-taking. Everyone seems to agree that trade-mugging is unpleasant, and from what I have seen, all caps shouting is frowned upon in the chats. I, for one, like knowing that there is a basis by which we can be civil to each other, even while we are engaged in trying to outdo our foes. It makes for easier alliances knowing that the base-line is there IMO. (All of this is quite odd to me, because I am a big believer in freedom of speech, but a greater believer that said free speech can get you a punch on the nose).
