URT Winter Rally Qualification Thread · · 12 likes

I took the race result data provided by Prezze spreadsheet URT Winter 2021 and started slicing and dicing it. Here are some findings:

There were 1820 unique participants. Broken down by track (the 4 following numbers were provided almost identically by Prezze, as well):
  • Parkland: 963
  • Speedway: 971
  • Two Islands: 1017
  • Sewage: 1016
Parkland
The busiest racer was the_gunners2004 with 14 entries, followed by three others with 13 and then six more with 12 entries each. There were also 395 racers who entered just a single qualifier on this track.

Speedway
On the second qualifying track the top evens out somewhat, with Ninja_Monkey_ and Vasto-Lorde both having 17 entries. Then there are another six racers with 16 and a further nine competitors with 15 starts, respectively. The number of single entrants increases to 416, correlating with the greater number of qualifying races.

Two Islands
This one was slightly less popular at the top, with CloudJumper, Jairyll, TheCarCollector and Tittie_Twister all participating 13 times. The next group consists of nine racers with 12 entries trailed by 13 more with 11 starts. The solo qualifying attempts for this track clocked in at 411.

Sewage
On to the last track, where AlphaDionysus is leading with 15 entries. Then there is a group of three racers with 13 starts, and another nine with 12 tries. And the number of single qualifiers remains in the same ballpark, it is 414.

Overall
When all the data is thrown together there emerges a leader, but it is awfully close. This is how the top 5 participations look:
  • 54: AlphaDionysus
  • 53: Jairyll
  • 52: TheCarCollector
  • 51: Donco
  • 50: Mania and Prezze
There have been 599 racers who attempted to qualify just once over the four-day event, which is about a third of all competitors.

Disclaimer: This research might not be 100 percent accurate, therefore all errors (numerical and textual) are probably mine. It has been performed on pre-compiled data from Prezze.

This sounds fun, and the racing is right up my street.

http://www.tornracing.com/ is not at all what I expected it to be. smiley

Is there a site out there with detailed information on racing in Torn? The wiki has some, TC Basic has some very outdated stuff, Tornstats has none, Yata has none. Some pieces of info can be gotten by reverse-engineering the odd racing userscript. There are a few racing guides and forum posts with valuable knowledge and data, but I would like even more. For example, a list of which tracks are running official races grouped by race class.
