Monarch sought to remove NS from the area which would have ended the agreement between Nuke and NS.
Nuke actively assisted Monarch in that enterprise.
Pretty hard to understand how Nuke can complain about NS terminating a contract when Nuke themselves were actively assisting someone else to bring about a scenario that would make continuing the contract impossible.
It is, of course, all to easy to get carried away in the wake of an against the odds win, so it’s important to maintain a sense of perspective and humility.
But nevertheless, questions must be asked … and not: “Who will Ascension defeat next?”
But rather: “Will Ascension EVER lose another ranked war?”

there was a very fierce initial fight that Ascension got the better due to a battlestat and activity advantage. mainly activity - we expected them to be strong at the start because it was an 8am start for east coast Australians.
There weren’t any war crimes like muggings committed by either side.
The only communications between each side were some very thoughtful and intelligent anonymous $messages, which allowed the senders to convey their true emotions without the risk of cruel rejection or invalidation from the recipient.
Ascenscion came prepared for a fight with a capable but not quite as strong opponent that would throw absolutely everything they had at them, and we prepared to prevent that from happening. HV obviously made the decision that they weren’t going to overcommit to a more powerful and fully committed opponent.
HV turtled exceptionally well for several hours waiting for an opening to push for board control, but Ascenscion didn’t allow it (and other platinum factions that aren’t as good as HV [which is 98%of them] should take note - Ascenscion has full global coverage).
When it became clear that Ascenscion’s lead was too great to realistically pull back, HV didn’t try to maintain some lame spite turtle - they came out guns blazing with multiple pushes and finished it early and win some caches (and bounties tgat I placed on inactives - YOU’RE WECOME BTW!)
It was a relatively short war but they could have made it a lot longer. Their bag game (among their core) was the best we’ve ever seen and they fought well.
We really were expecting more fun engagement in this thread.
