I used to have my staff and crew hustle and do a good job. I was recently FIRED
When I was around, the crew didn’t play around.
They took their duties and tasks seriously because they understood that I was a no nonsense man I went you clocked in to work you are there to work. Customers were most satisfied when I was on duty. No complaints were filed while in was in the building. When I was not in the building I would come into work with a book full of complaints.
I ended up placing 3 employees on probation because they failed to meet my minimum standards. When I did that, I intendee that they would pick up the slack and next become good employees.
I was fired because I was told I was too harsh. The owner came in and sat me down for 30 minutes explaining the plethora of complaints about me from my workers. He offered me a severance package which I refused and he told me it’s not negotiable you are now terminated as a McDonalds Manager.
I was utterly stunned. I got weak and numb. They went to walk me out but I couldn’t even get my legs under me. My stomach got heavy and I felt the need to throw up or defecate, or both at the same time, right in the dining room of the store. As they walked me out my employees saw me and were laughing. I said in my authoritative voice “don’t be smirking, don’t be smirking”.
But they didn’t listen. When I reached my vehicle I started passing gas profusely. I couldn’t believe it. I went home and fainted. I then drank a fifth of vodka. I drove back to my store and sat in the parking lot. One of my former employees spotted me and told the on duty manager. He came to the parking lot and ordered me to leave. I was top manager so to have someone I used to give orders too telling me to leave didn’t sit well with me.
I am not pleased with all this.
As I was preparing to leave the store parking lot for the second time that day, I saw something that I never saw before. It looked like a tall shimmering and translucent image, appearing behind one of the McDonalds dumpsters. A place I knew intimately well as I woukd go there to drink a bottle of Boondocks Strawberry when my crew was espeically ill-mannered some days. This translucent shimmering image was tall, purple and wider at the base than he was at the top. He seemed to have stubby little purple hands, and I could not discern any legs. He was mouthing silently something... from a wide toothless mouth.
He seemed to be saying "Hamburger..." over and over again. But it could have also been "Milkshake". I drew another nip from my bottle of Old Granddad and sullenly drove off, leaving what could only have been the Ghost of Grimace Past in my dirty rearview mirror.
I don't know where life will take me next on my journey through this greasy rest stop that we call life, but whereever I go, I know that my next crew will respect my authority as a Manager.
