You know the scene in MGS3 where you meet The Sorrow and travel up the ghost river?
Imagine the ghost river is full of all the animals you have hunted in South Africa in Torn.
Just something to think about if you are chasing that tiger skin benner.
The IDF had detailed knowledge of the Oct 7 attack weeks before it happened.
This article is from The Jerusalem Post, a right-leaning mainstream Israeli newspaper. Which is to say, Israel does not dispute their intelligence officials had detailed knowledge of the attacks. This could have been due to multiple failures in Israeli intelligence (which seems unlikely, they are good) or else Israel let the attacks happen so they would have casus belli to retaliate. Nobody's gonna come out and say that part publicly but it's a pretty big smoking gun.
A newly surfaced document has revealed that the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and intelligence systems had detailed knowledge of Hamas's plan to raid Israel and kidnap 250 people weeks before the October 7 massacre.
The document, which was compiled in the Gaza Division, outlined Hamas's intentions and was known to top intelligence officials, according to a report by Kan News.
The document, titled "Detailed End-to-End Raid Training," was distributed on September 19, 2023, and described in detail the series of exercises conducted by Hamas's elite units.
These exercises included raiding military posts and kibbutzim (collective communities in Israel), kidnapping soldiers and civilians, and maintaining the hostages once they were in the Gaza Strip...
"Israeli intelligence officials who monitored the exercise detailed in the document the next steps after breaching into Israel and taking over the posts, determining that the instruction is to hand over the captured soldiers to the company commanders. The expected number of hostages, it states, is between 200 and 250 people," Kan News reported.
This information, combined with a new and sophisticated security barrier completed two years before the attack, was believed to have made such an assault improbable. However, the barrier failed during the Hamas attack, highlighting a significant intelligence and security oversight.
Yes I think it is highly likely Israel put civilians in harm's way to further their political goals.
I've looked around the forums some and am wondering if anybody has run any numbers on which 2.0 crimes give the best CE efficiency? Does disposal give the best CE? What about burglary vs hustling?

Keep in mind that this thread is five years old, the stock market is radically different now and nothing in his thread works the way it used to.
I really like this spreadsheet, which is current and which rates every stock in terms of return on investment for benefit blocks (BBs) https://www.torn.com/forums.php#/p=threads&f=61&t=15997695&b=0&a=0&start=20&to=25627428
McSmoogle is the "best" investment but it pays out in E, not cash, and its value is based on the price of e-drink cans.
EDCC pays out in happy boost which is useless once your stats are higher than 400k each or so.
Other than these two special cases, bank interest is the best RoI by a significant margin. SYM (drug pack) and FHG (FHC) are the best BB payouts but maxing your bank investment is better than either of those.

Getting mugged is a cost of doing business. Unless you are running xanax there is never a reason to fly with more than 500k or so.

If you are an active player, collage / airport / casino skimmers will collect the most cards but you'll need to collect them more frequently to keep them from getting found.
If want to let it run in the background while traveling, subway or post office are slower to collect card details but also safer, you can leave skimmers here for days / weeks without them being found.

grep '^n.w..e$' ignis-100k.txtGrep ('global regular expression print') is a tool that searches through a text file line by line trying to match a pattern. Regular expressions are a big topic but we only need to know a couple of symbols for Torn Cracking purposes:
"^" means only return matches at the very start of the line.
"$" means only return matches at the very end of the line.
"." represents a single character.
If you have, say, a 6-letter password, the basic pattern would be '^......$' with one "." for each character in the password. Whenever I learn a letter by brute forcing or guessing it in Torn, I can add that letter to my grep pattern. So if I learned the first letter was N and the last letter was E, the pattern is '^n....e$', with four dots in between. This tells grep to only return matches that are exactly six characters long that start with n and end with e. (In this case the solution was "newbie").
If you don't already know basic unix-y stuff this might not be worth your time but if you are comfortable in a shell it's quick & easy and doesn't need any kind of setup.

If you have a good stock portfolio than yeah owning a PI is great, just be aware that same money could reliably be generating interest payments every week / month / quarter.
Even if you had an unlimited bankroll, Torn blackjack has a $10M max bet meaning you cannot chase your losses higher than that by doubling.
I got a mystery I'm sure has been asked but I can't figure out. What's the deal with the "ghost bars" to the right of the actual energy / nerve bar?
