There are also psychological and physiological reasons why 3am is a hot spot. We have internal body clocks that scientists are still trying to understand but there are some really odd things they’ve noticed about 3am - like if you’ve stayed awake and deprived yourself of sleep your core body temperature will drop at about this time but if you’re asleep you’re likely to be transitioning between deep and light sleep.
Technically, I’m supposed to support academics at my university so their research can actually do some good in the world.
In reality, I mostly do other peoples jobs.

I used to play a lot of MMOs which meant I had a lot of alts. All my alts had bird related names. This particular name comes from Talia Treecreeper, my bosmer from ESO.
Side note: Google treecreepers. They are adorably angry little birds.

I worked as an au pair (nanny) for a family in Japan. The kids were a set of twins, 18 months old when I first arrived. Their father had passed away while their mother was pregnant and their grandmother was quite sick so they needed the extra help.
One morning I was sitting in the living room with boys, reading a book, when one of them got up off my lap and walked up to an empty corner of the room. He pointed up to the ceiling and said “me, me!” Which is Japanese for eyes. Then he reaches up with his little hands opening and closing them saying “achi, achi” which is Japanese toddler for either ‘pick me up’ or ‘let me see what you’re holding.’ A second goes by and then simultaneously both the boys just start screaming- not crying or throwing a tantrum but proper terrified screaming.
Both boys run and hide behind me and wouldn’t let go, even when their mum came in to see wtf was going on. They wouldn’t let go of me and were shaking. I was kind of scared I was going to be fired (terrified shrieking is not normal and you should definitely fire the nanny if that’s the kids reaction to them) but when she asked me what happened the boy who first went to the corner pointed at it again and said “me, me!”
They didn’t play in that room after that.

Hedge witch here. Nice to meet some other witches.
Torn “fact”: Various names were suggested at Torn’s inception. Broken, Ripped and Shabby were eventually discarded when Chedburn decided to throw whoever suggested them out a window.
