I have been reading tarot professionally for many years, and I’m offering free tarot reading for anyone interested, as a special offer for Torn players. I specialize in romance, spiritual guidance, careers and life goals.
No vaccine for me. And I only wear my mask when I absolutely have to and not a second longer. I’m so over this Covid nonsense. Unpopular opinion, I know, but there’s too many holes in the logic behind the mandates and restrictions, and too much flip-flop information in the media about it.
Firstly, this thread is looking for like-minded people. You don’t agree with our beliefs? this is not the place for you.
secondly, One of the main things I hate about Christianity is how pushy you people are and expecting everyone to think like you. There’s hundreds of faiths and thousands of gods in the world, and they all lead to the same universal source and communication with the Divine / Higher Self to some degree. Why is YOUR way the “only way”?
Thirdly, I studied to be a Lutheran Deacon for a couple years (which means I’m extremely knowledgeable about the Gospels) before I developed a deeper more mystical interpretation of who / what God is, thus leading me into the occult.
Fourthly, I already told you I’m very happy practicing my path, why would you expect me to change and conform into something I don’t agree with?
Fifthly, I enjoy a hearty religious debate, but if I’m talking to someone with their fingers in their ear who will automatically disregard everything I say, I will not waste my time. If however, you want to rebuttal my comments with an intelligent and philosophical argument about theology, I’m open for discussion. I just won’t accept that “I will pray you find Jesus” bullshit.
I’m the bassist for DINAN, and am happy to share our YouTube channel featuring our debut music video, 4 Leaf Clover, and our cover of Nirvana’s In Bloom.
We’re a 3 piece rock band heavily influenced by the 1990’s Seattle area sound, based out of Brooklyn, NY, playing live shows regularly (going on tour next year), and releasing our debut album later this year.
Hey everyone, I was gone for several months. But I’m back. Nice to see there’s other likeminded folks here. I’ll shoot some of you a private message. Blessed Be!

I know what you mean. Here in USA, mostly the big cities is where you’ll find most the country’s pagans, occultists, etc, but once you leave the cities, especially in the southern states, it’s “God’s country”. Although atheism is growing rapidly here as church membership continues to drop nation wide.
It’s better to follow your own path anyway because although lodges and covens can be beneficial for learning hands on and “correct” ways of conducting rituals, they can easily become tainted with people like we mentioned before, and things like the orgies and ritualized sex can get in the way if conducted by the wrong people who are too attached to their own hang-ups. There’s enough published material and contact online with experienced practitioners that can more than make up for the lack of physical company of others, which will give you what you need to carve your own way as you will it.
“If the path is already laid out in front of you, it’s someone else’s path, not yours.” - Joseph Campbell
Ok Sweeney Todd, we get it. You disagree with our beliefs. Enough with the name calling and shit slinging. Move on and be miserable somewhere else.
Also, my wife is a Belgian immigrant and I have several friends in Italy, Germany and Poland, and no they are not mostly pagan. Europe is over all very heavily Christianized. Blasphemy against the church is illegal in Poland.
Hey Wolfie, I’m a former Church of Satan member (LaVey’s Satanism for anyone else reading this who doesn’t know he’s the founder), but left the organization after I realized that indeed they were a bunch of assholes. I discovered that once I moved to New York City and became personally close with many of the Priesthood here. They’re back stabbers, liars and pretentious drunks who just talk shit about other people instead of truly embracing the ideals and philosophies LaVey set forth. It’s unfortunate that an organization which promotes free thinking and individual creative pursuit deteriorated into a social club of group-think who chastised anyone who thought differently than them.
Although the orgies they had at their private parties were fun!
The organization fell to shit after LaVey died and came under the new High Priest, Peter Gilmore. I never met him but I met several of his close friends.
Anywho, the “proper magic” you mention was never a supernatural belief. It had to do with basically applied atheism which was emotionally expressed through ritual (humans have always used stories and mythology to express the universal concepts of that which makes us truly human and, and the subconscious speaks in the language of symbols and metaphors so ritual satisfy that, and magic is merely creating change in conformity with one’s will, so by all intent and purpose, even cooking dinner is considered a magical act). LaVey taught that by ritually releasing emotional hang ups in the “intellectual decompress chamber” freed the mind in the real world to be better equipped to focus and for willpower to be more pure and undistracted. Self empowerment is really the heart and soul of the CoS, and Satan was a representation of the human self and all his / her potential to master their own world.
There a lot of things LaVey stole from Crowley as far as day to day philosophy, but unfortunately he watered much of it down and simplified and limited it in many ways and claimed it as his own findings. However, that doesn’t invalidate the usefulness of most of his writings nonetheless.
You say you follow some of his philosophies of self empowerment as an atheist and not being a dick to anyone, well, sounds like you’re a more proper Satanist than most of the life-long folks dedicated to the organization.

Yea. I just spent 5 days in the Tampa Bay Area of Florida. It was a blast! Im going back in October. I’m not vaccinated and honestly I don’t trust it. I also go to band rehearsal regularly. I’m not too worried about Covid. But I don’t go out of my way to be exposed either. I’m just living my life as normal as possible, otherwise I’d go insane.
You’re correct about the dates of the first writings, but at that time there was no one unified agreement about what they actually taught and Christianity had become separate cults, and it wasn’t until the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD that codified the first established unification of what would become the Catholic Church. And they only kept 4 of the 30-something gospels written, then preceded to edit them over the centuries, and many things got lost in translations when translating into other languages. So it’s impossible for me to accept the Bible as THE word of God, and to accept the validity of the “eye witness accounts”.
Christ never described Heaven and Hell besides in quick and obscure comments like “my father’s house has many rooms” and his descriptions of hell referenced Gehenna, a valley outside the city where trash was burned and children were sacrificed by fire. The Jews didn’t believe in hell, and since that was his audience, he had to use a point of reference to describe to them what a second death would be like. His ascension was at face value floating up into the sky, but it was meant to be a metaphor for our own awakening. (Again, a crude summary because I’m not trying to write a novel because I could PAGES on just topic alone but you probably wouldn’t read it with an open mind anyway).
But there are several passages that describe Jesus talking about how we are manifestations of God in his image as God, especially in the Gnostic Gospels, and that like Christ rose from the dead, so too would we and obtain his status.
As far your statement about denying ALL of ancient history if I deny Christ truly lived, well, that’s just ridiculous. Don’t get me wrong, I’m open minded enough to the possibility he did exist, but I don’t believe he was a “savior of mankind” except through him being a symbol for our own awakening to our own divinity.
Take the Eucharist for example, we physically take in Divinity into ourselves and go out into the word embodied by God. That’s some SERIOUS esoteric and occult symbolism there!
Firstly, I don’t believe in Christ as an actual person, and if DID exist, his inner teachings were of the esoteric kind, much of what I described (“the kingdom of God is within” sound familiar?) It was the Church 300 years later who redefined what was written about Jesus to fit their narrative of control over the masses. Second, Crowley never touched a child nor killed anyone. Those are rumors created by the media who tried to run him out of town because he challenged the Church. So you keep believing what you will, as false as it may be.
I’m very happy and fulfilled practicing my occult path. I am a former Christian and it was very spiritually lacking and I grew tired of the fear and guilt and obedient slave mentality that is expected by the church. Besides, if you were to study the true origins and meanings of the Bible, you’d discover it’s full of Kabbalah (a path of Jewish mysticism) references and metaphors for awakening our own inner Divinity. The Bible is not meant to be taken literally at face value. The first Christians were mystics. In essence, God is the universal life force which is expressed and experienced through man. As Aleister Crowley says, “ there is no God but man.” And “There is no part of me that is not of the gods”. A very crude summary but I’m also trying not write a novel, LOL.
Well then, for a “con artist” he sure has a hell of massive catalog of writings and undeniably monumental influence on just about everything pertaining to modern occultism (and Wicca via his student Gerald Gardner who was a high ranking member of Crowley’s organization). And considering I’ve been a Thelemite for 2 years, dedicated to Crowley’s teachings, I hardly believe you read (let alone practiced) more than I have. But I’m not going to argue with you, nor do I have to prove anything to you because you’ll just remain in your deliberate ignorance.
He had his faults like any human and he may not appeal to everyone, but he was a genius, and a master of the Magick he practiced and taught and influenced so much of modern occultism. I’d suggest actually reading what he wrote.
