Hey guys, so I run a Sweeney Todd/ Mrs. Lovett themed

bazaar so naturally, my main specialty items are cut-throat razors and shaving foam. For the past couple of days, I’ve been listing my shaving foam at the usual market value price of $229-$239, but as I listed them today, I noticed something unusual… the market value price spiked from $239 to $780 seemingly overnight. Curiosity got the better of me and I went to check the item market.

As I’m scrolling to see where it’s at (usually right at the top of the miscellaneous items) I noticed that it isn’t where it normally is and shock hit me harder than the Mexican government hit El Mencho. “WHERE TF IS MY SHAVING FOAM AT”, I desperately ask myself only to find it towards the middle of all the listings and see the new price… upwards of $15,000!

After almost suffering from an aneurism, I decided to get to the bottom of the sudden price increase. I check the item stats and see something I would’ve never expected. The price DID increase by $15,000 overnight! An item that has consistently been under $500 for over 3 years is suddenly worth more than a Jaguar plushie. I check the circulation stats and oddly enough there was absolutely no increase in item rarity. At first, I assumed this was the work of market manipulators buying out the foam and relisting it at ridiculous prices (common for Torn traders) but almost everyone had changed their prices while I’ve been selling mine cheap for the past 2 days like a damn fool!

Nothing about the situation made any sense, so I decided to do some research. Now, being my typical Gen Z, AI-reliant self, my first instinct was to ask ChatGPT (please don’t judge me). Chat told me what I had already thought to myself, market manipulators buying out shaving foam and relisting at insane prices while everyone else follows along like sheep but for something as common as shaving foam, which you normally get by shoplifting from the pharmacy or burglarizing the barbershop, this reasoning didn’t add up. I tried asking Grok after only to get the same answer. I checked forums, Reddit… and still didn’t find anything conclusive.

At this point, I decided to check for answers in the last, most unreliable place I would think to check… the Torn Wiki. Usually considered unreliable because of the many outdated and unfinished articles, I check to see if any relevant information would be available and to my surprise, there actually was.

Usage

Shaving Foam is used in the following Organized Crimes 2.0:

Decoy role during the First Aid and Abet scenario. The item is used up and lost.

Historical Notes

Shaving Foam had no usage purpose until 24/02/2025.

After a moment of slight relief thinking I had finally found out why the price increased, I do a double take and notice that the year is posted as 2025. Now, I’ve been selling shaving foam consistently for over a month now and I know that this date doesn’t seem right because I’m sure I would’ve noticed that it was an OC 2.0 item previously. I’m left with only more and more questions… and then I check the footnote at the bottom of the Wiki page and finally come to my conclusion.

And there it is, folks. Whoever’s handling the editing on the Torn Wiki needs a demotion. This absolute numbskull posted the wrong date for their supposedly “historical” notes. Genius. And just like that, all those times I spent hundreds of thousands on shaving foam just to add some filler items to my bazaar, turned out to be an investment that paid off on a scale parallel to 2009 Bitcoin. So if you guys see any foam on the market for around $780 in the next few days, I’d suggest you buy it!

EDIT (03/03/2026): Since the creation of this post, our favorite Torn Wiki editor remembered that it’s now 2026, corrected the Wiki, shaving foam is now a material item and the price has relaxed to around $1k-2k! Sweeney couldn’t be happier!

Hello, I play exclusively on Torn PDA, just for reference. I scrolled down my profile to see my signature randomly got cut off on the right side. They normally center themselves but for some reason, after making no modifications at all, they are now cut off on the side. I also checked my leaders profile signature since I copied his faction badge to represent my faction, his banner was also cut off. This glitch may be exclusive to Torn PDA, I’m not too sure, either way I’d like the proper person to know so they could fix it. Thankfully, I have a before picture so you can see the problem more clearly.
