This is honestly a solid take, and I appreciate you putting it out there. Forums like this can definitely feel intimidating at first—especially when you're new or unsure how your tone might land—but you're right, the only real way to get more comfortable is to actually participate.

Also agree hard on the AI bit. While tools have their place (like for basic spell checks or clarity in work settings), letting AI rewrite your voice to be more "acceptable" can really flatten out the personality that makes posts interesting. Messy, genuine posts show who someone is, and that’s what makes a community feel real.

It’s cool to see people advocating for the value of human interaction, especially in an environment where that's starting to feel rare. We all mess up sometimes—what matters is how you learn and move forward.

My uncle works at torn and leaks more than a paper bag full of bull seaman. He has confirmed the release of drug production and flying 2.0 will completely change the supply of drugs overseas.

The drug production crime will involve players creating bulk quantities of drugs (e.g bricks of weed, pints of LSD etc) these bulk packs cannot be consumed in torn, rather players will smuggle them overseas and sell them to the NPC black market shops thereby replenishing their stock. The entire overseas drug supply will be solely dependent on player activity. 

Dynamic pricing will have a significant impact on how players decide which country to smuggle to. The Japanese black market may offer smugglers the best price on Xanax one week, however as more players meet that demand the price Japan is willing to pay will decrease. 

There will also be a "heat" mechanic whereby the more players smuggle to/from a particular country, the more suspicious the authorities get and the chance of being intercepted increases. Players will then need to balance the risk of getting caught with the reward of increased profit. 

My uncle also confirmed this is due to be rolled out sometime in the 2050s shortly after the release of impersonation.

This thread is evidence that humans can connect over content created by AI. We're doing it right now by having this argument. The AI slop you hate so much has moved you (and many others) enough to come here and have a debate about it. 

 People who enjoy AI art connect to it some way, that's human connection. 

If by human connection you mean the relationship between audience and artist, I completely disagree. Some artists are anonymous, some artists create art that is never seen by anybody else. That art hasn't failed to serve it purposes simply because it lacks "human connection".

That point isn't missed, it's just that something doesn't automatically become valuable just because it "has personality" or because some has put thought and effort into it. 

I would wager you didn't hold this belief until AI became prevalent. Now that it has you want to defend all "man made" art as being inherently valuable. 

Most people's opposition to AI art isn't because it actually looks bad or generic it's because they believe art is a sacred human activity and feel threatened by the idea that one day AI might dominate that field the same way as it does many others.

It's quite simple, just because something is made by a human doesn't mean it looks better or has more value than something produced by AI. 

For example that shitty Anime picture in your album looks worse than my AI generated profile picture imo. The anime picture looks pretty generic to me and I don't see anything unique or interesting in it. It's trash.

Obviously this is all subjective, there is no right or wrong answer in art it's a question of personal taste. What I think looks shit you might really enjoy.

I just want to say that I really hope you don’t let the negative comments, dismissive replies, or outright hostility get to you. It’s so easy to look at a thread like this and start questioning yourself when a bunch of people pile on, but honestly, I think you should keep speaking your mind and sharing your perspective.

Not everyone is going to agree with you, and that’s completely fine. In fact, disagreement is inevitable whenever someone puts a strong opinion out there. But disagreement doesn’t automatically mean you’re wrong, and criticism certainly doesn’t mean you should stop contributing. If anything, the fact that your post has generated this much discussion shows that you’ve touched on something people actually care about.

One of the worst things about online discussions is how quickly people can become dismissive. Someone can spend ages thinking through an issue, explain where they’re coming from, and then get hit with a handful of sarcastic comments or personal attacks instead of an actual response to what they said. That can be incredibly discouraging. But I hope you remember that the loudest commenters aren’t necessarily representative of everyone reading the thread. There are almost certainly people who appreciate what you’re saying even if they aren’t jumping into the replies to tell you.

So please don’t feel like you have to disappear just because some people disagree with you. You’re allowed to have a perspective. You’re allowed to explain why you see things differently. You’re allowed to change your mind when you encounter new information, too. None of that requires you to silence yourself simply because someone else happens to dislike what you’re saying.

And honestly, I think there’s value in people being willing to say what they genuinely think, provided they’re prepared to have their ideas challenged and discussed. That’s how conversations actually develop. If everyone only posted opinions they knew would receive universal approval, forums would be incredibly boring and there’d be very little opportunity for anyone to learn anything.

Obviously, criticism can sometimes be useful, and I’m not saying you should automatically dismiss every person who disagrees with you. There’s a big difference between someone offering a thoughtful counterargument and someone simply trying to provoke you. Take the former seriously if there’s something worthwhile in it, and don’t feel obligated to give the latter your energy. You don’t have to answer every single person, defend every sentence, or get dragged into endless arguments.

Ultimately, though, I hope you keep participating. Keep explaining your reasoning. Keep asking questions. Keep challenging assumptions. Keep contributing when you have something you genuinely want to say. You don’t need everyone’s approval before your contribution is worth making.

And if the occasional thread turns into a pile-on, remember that the internet has a very strange way of making a relatively small number of very vocal people seem like they represent everybody. They don’t. A few angry replies are still just a few angry replies.

So yeah, OP: take the useful criticism, ignore the pointless hostility, and don’t let the people trying to shut the conversation down convince you that you shouldn’t have spoken up in the first place. You’re entitled to your perspective, and you’re entitled to express it. Keep the conversation going, keep listening to people who engage in good faith, and most importantly, don’t let a handful of haters dictate whether you participate.

I honestly couldn’t agree more with the OP on this. You’ve basically put into words exactly what I’ve been thinking for a while, and it’s refreshing to see someone actually say it so clearly and directly.

There are so many points here that I could get behind, but what really stands out to me is the bigger picture. It’s easy to overlook these things or dismiss them as unimportant, but when you actually stop and think about what the OP is saying, it makes a lot of sense. I think a lot of people will read this and quietly realise they’ve had the same thoughts but just haven’t known how to articulate them.

I especially appreciate that this isn’t just agreeing for the sake of agreeing. There’s a genuine point being made here, and I think it deserves more attention than it might initially get. Too often these discussions become unnecessarily complicated, when sometimes the straightforward explanation is the right one.
