The Askelads started in December 2024 as a group of Norwegian friends with a goal - Be a tight knit group of warmongers. The plan quickly turned into organised chaos, multi accusations, but somehow it works. Today we're a close-knit faction focused on getting stronger, fighting wars and having a great time along the way.
We don't expect Torn to become your fulltime job, but we do want people that know how to communicate, engage and dont mysteriously disappear when there is work to be done.

Trying to make this a not totally shit-posting thread even though it's pretty tempting - Long post, but bear with me.
21:00:11 - 30/05/25 The ranked war between The Askelads and Cosa-Nostra has begun
Backstory: When matching we had a quick conversation with Lazon (Co-Lead)
He gave us the following 2 choices:

Staying in torn, no self hosp, no mercs, flying ++
Which essentially translated to Lose / Lose looking at the matchup. Which we kindly denied with our counteroffers which was completely ignored - beside a minimum of 2k for the losing side no matter the outcome.
Coming the war, Torn control goes as one would expect in a war with such difference in stats - and 3 Hours in the war I get the following msg from their leader "BeenDabbin"
Where he basicly tells us that we've lost and should give them the win - as we're turtling which i mean - is the only reasonable way for us to fight when their stats are close to 10x ours on average.
I were trying to reason to have a normal war, but no risk of missing enlistment time - Tuesday, but he would not have it. The man was MAD we were not playing sitting ducks in torn for his 10b Goliath.
He then offered for us to buy the win - which we are not really interested in as plat is not very interesting for us. But ofcourse we will still not give away a win for free - Man then started demanding us to lose / threatening to go back on Lazon's (Co-Leads) word on giving the losing side 2k points regardless of the outcome.
So I here established there is no dealing with this guy - We decided to step up our and show him.
Saturday goes by, we are gaining traction and eventually gets up to a lead.
Our Co-lead which has not yet given up negotiating with them suggested that we can take the win - and pay them a medium arms cache if they admit that we beat them fair and square got the following reply
So Apparently they have given us the Win, which makes it quite strange that they have spent more than 50m on steroids alone, atleast 20 BCT and 20 SED... Where would you draw the line on the budget when giving away a WIN?
We gave them yet another chance to be able to enlist, now ofcourse without any caches on the tablet.
I know its probably considered a shit post, but I am just finding this funny.
Hi there — one of the four leaders of The Askelads here.
Somehow we’ve stumbled into this war. Torn politics has never really caught my interest, and we’ve mostly kept to ourselves, so I never imagined a territory war would be how we finish 2025.
That said, this part of the game has turned out to be genuinely interesting. The Askelads are by no means a powerhouse with our whopping ~10m average battle stats, but being involved in something larger like this territory wars (and eliminations) is one of the good ways to meet people you normally wouldn’t cross paths with.
I’m honestly a little sad to see how many bad things are said about territory wars. So far, all I’ve seen has been hella interesting, and this feature feels massively slept on. Of course, there are improvements that could make it more active, but it’s far from broken.
Big thanks to OBN for letting us war in their territory (or sector, or whatever to name it), Nameless for putting up a great fight (especially you, Pennywise Clown Posse, for the constant attention), and the NW Alliance crew — you all rock.

I know I am a little bit late to the party. But this suggestion is still highly relevant.
You mentioned earlier about 'holding' the item until a certain action (payout) was done.
However that would make doing payouts uneccesarily complicated
I would guess adding a new boolean column in the backend where it will either have to be 'released' by a member with item giving permission for it to be used, or 'given/loaned out'
I do believe this will solve the issues quite cleanly. (While not as cleanly as just adding it to the 'loot' box)
Do choco jumps (or half choco) instead if you dont have enough money to be going around with happy jumps. that is what im always recommending to my newer players at least.
Bank is the best passive income and should be prioritze before extravagant spending
Personally I stop negotiations to term the war if nothing is semi-agreed upon when it's less than 40 hours until war start as that is when preparations for real war starts. And if we have to prepare for war we sure as hell will go the whole mile.
Better start negotiations earlier if you dont want to end up in the battlefield, and in this case it seems like you really should have
It does, it would be okay as well if you explained in the terms why it is required with a limited key i suppose, just reacted on it asking for a limited key, but all data it claimed to be using was public ones.
Not sure what i feel about sharing spy data with all factions using the tool, if i understood it correctly?
Spy estimates you contribute (battle-stat estimates from your TornStats/YATA sources). These are pooled and shared with other factions using the tool.
Sounds like both sides are breaking the terms to some extent. If you have that many members who dont understand how wars / termed wars work, perhaps you should train them before the war starts. Self-hosping and turtling arent exactly within the agreed terms either.
