There are plenty of apartments for rent, and most of them have the same amenities, yet maaany of them have expensive per day rents. What is the logic behind setting an expensive rent?

Wouldn't anybody looking to rent, all things equal, choose the cheaper option? When would the expensive apartment ever seem like the best choice to a prospective renter?
