Hey, you can't say this is an inaccurate conclusion when you didn't read my words carefully :)
I've said in my first sentence that this pertains to people who are a habitual internet user and a user of social media without reserve! : D
I hope you didn't go to this thread being so heated without actually understanding what I was trying to deliver :)
And also in a debate, you can't use your own experience to negate someone else's.
I only used layman terms for my conclusion, but it is not based on my own perspective only. This is from a collection of free intellectual studies over the internet : D I can link them if you want to read them yourself! : D I meant no harm in this thread, making the internet a boggieman for all the mental disorders in the world, this is thread is literally named "it might be from your habits"(using internet/social media without reserve), which means it is only a suggestion from a collection of studies tha I read beforehand : D
Internet Overdose is a phenomenon where a habitual internet user overdosed from the continuous stream of dopamine by using social media without reserve. Dopamine is a chemical in the brain released when you feel rewarded and motivated from your actions; this mean that while using internet/social media, your brain is in a party. But imagine partying for 24/7? At first it sounds fun, but then, just like how humans are designed, we'd get tired from the constant event. It's like that with our brain while on social media, or internet in general. It makes you feel nice at first, after all, the internet is a reflection of the collective humanity's superego. But then, if you get addicted to it, eventually you'll get overdosed. Real life will start feeling bland to you because it doesn't give you 24/7 party. It won't feed your ego like how internet interactions do. In conclusion? Touch grass, be one with the nature. Return to monke. Just kidding, stop hanging out so much in the internet, and start doing more in your life. Be it simply taking a walk, talking to neighbors, arranging your stuff. Anything. Thanks for coming to your schizo therapist's talk. //I'm not a professional and this is my own conclusion from self help articles online. Take everything with a salt over the internet//
