We are on to something here but ive got an idea to turn this up to 11.
1st place loses zero lives at any given time
2nd place loses 1 life
3rd loses 2 life
4th loses 3 all the way to the bottom until people are dropping 11 lives at a time. Start us out with 500 lives (number to be determined) this way its a fuckin free for all. Everyone has to fight 24/7 nobody can coast and everyone wants that sweet sweet top space.
Here is where shit gets crazy as a team is eliminated that 11 moves upward. Meaning now 11th place loses 11. 10th loses 10. This way whoever is at the bottom really has to fight to get out. You bleed quickly so you cant stay there for long. But no matter what last place is always bleeding 11 points per tick.
Make it a constant battle to stay alive where nobody is safe. This will give the free for all battle that everyone is looking for.

Never add after fire has already started. It seems critical failures are super easy at that point. So set the shit you need aka 2 gas per fire icon if needs 100% otherwise just use 1 gas and burn it. Never add Never put out Never touch once started. If you put too much gas it can burn you and crit fail I believe as well.
