Hi guys, being quite new to torn i have read multiple threads explaining the ins and outs of torn, i thought id make a MUCH more simplified version as it can get quite involved.

let me know if anything needs improving or changing :D

Tools/Scripts

The best tool i have found to use (on PC) is Torn Tools - this adds things like amout of money a trade is worth, being able to click the energy bar to go straight to the gym the nerve bar to go to crimes you will need to add your API KEY to allow access.



Bank

In torn there is not an exact bank as you know it, therefore using the stock market as a bank is the best way to hold your money protecting against muggers (mugs)

The first thing you want to buy is the Stock Ticker from the Points Shop
It costs 25 points either redeemed through donator packs or bought from Points market but this is a wise investment due to being able to use this as a bank as carrying alot of money in your "pocket" and getting mugged can see you part with your hard earned torn dollars.

In torn the stock market is a lot less risk than real life it costs 0.1% fee to withdraw and free to buy stocks.

using the bank investing is a good idea early on, but remember this money is NOT WITHDRAWABLE for the period you set so put in around 10-15k for the 1 week investment and once this matures reinvest to 2w and so on as you will unlock longer investment times and % for later.




Making money

in the beginning you want to be doing a few things to build up a bit of money.

buying beers from Bits 'n' Bobs 100 item buy limit a day and either selling to a trader (you can find these in the trade chat window) or putting them straight on the market. its usually wise to check the prices of a trader before putting on the market as you can make some extra money selling to whichever is highest.

in the trade chat you can find traders advertising their price lists: it will show like this ;

• Start trade
• add your items you wish to sell
• wait for the other guy to add his money
• DOUBLE CHECK EVERYTHING
• once happy with the trade click accept

Selling losses is another way of making money, this is to attack a higher level than you to give them the loss - they are doing this to obtain a merit if you go into the trade chat and advertise yourself to sell losses to a higher level the price at writing this is around 250k - 300k per loss, attacking uses 25 energy so you can do this 4 times non sub or dono or 6 times with sub or dono.

using a xanax pill to give you 250 energy is a good idea as this gives you 10 more attacks but only use 1 xanax per day due to drug addictions and not being able to travel until 15 to use the rehab in switzerland.




Merits.

Merits are awards you earn during playing the game to upgrade certain abilities, in the beginning you are best to upgrade your education length and once that is maxed out then max out the bank interest. hopefully if you were investing early on you would be on your way to utilize this to your advantage.




Level 15

reaching level 15 ASAP is the main goal. once reached it unlocks travelling where you can make ALOT more money. i plan on doing a travelling guide at a later point.

the easiest way to reach level 15 is to attack higher levels and LEAVE ON STREET as this gives the most XP. there is a list of players with stats Here - attack the players close to your own stats and again only leave on street


Private island

you want to live in a private island not only for the upgrades like the private airfield but the happiness, a fully upgraded PI can net you 4,400 BASE happiness, this happiness gives massive gains in the gym per train.

to get a PI early on you can rent one from another player you are looking around 20m for 30days


Happy jumps

A happy jump involves going over your "max" happiness, this is quite expensive but i would plan to do at least one before your level 15, although quite expensive costing 24m it is well worth it without going bankrupt ;)

with a happy jump it is ALL OR NOTHING as doing a "half Happy jump" because you could only afford 2 or 3 erotic DVDs is a waste of money as you are 100% better waiting til you can afford all on the shopping list.


Shopping List:

Xanax x4 (250 energy)
Erotic DVDs x5 (2500 happiness each)
Ecstasy x1 (doubles happiness)
25 points to refil your energy in points shop

the MOST important thing before watching the E DVDs and the ecstasy is to check the torn time at the top as happiness resets on every 15 min (quater past, half past, quater to, and on the hour) wait for the time to be at 16 past, 31 past etc.

• empty your energy bar, attack other players at or around your stat levels.
• use all the xanax, there is a cool down after taking each xanax of 360-480 minutes
• once you have 1000 energy saved and the last xanax cooldown has run out you now watch all 5 dvdstake the ecstasy, this is the risky part, there is a chance of overdosing on this and loosing the WHOLE happy jump (it will happen eventually)

now you should be sat with a decently high happiness, if you are in a maxed out PI you will have 4400 base happy + 10,000 from dvds x2 from ecstasy netting a total of 28,800 happy.


then train in the gym, your 1000 energy will be used in 5E per train so you will be able to train 250 in each area, this is the best action for your first happy jump.

once you have used your 1000 energy you then spend the 25 points in points shop to refil your energy bar to train with that as well.

for your 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th happy i would advise doing a jump and putting all energy into each stat as a whole. as these will get massive gains.

cannot rate this guy high enough! multiple trades with no mugging and amazing prices - will defo be using ATA as my main trade guy :D
