The Family Photo - A Cursed Object · · 11 likes

Hello, I Myself a Mother (and high priestess) of Wiccan, folkloric hearth witch, chaotically magical cyber mess, Have noticed some strange energy around (The Family Photo) seems to hold a curse or negative energy in my inventory. The item just keeps coming back.

The Family Photo

Some objects have been encoded to hold a curse to it. It is similar to the games where a cursed object may cause bad luck or torment someone. Just like any enchanted object, it is linked to a spell but it instead puts out negative energy. This Family Photo item I believe is cursed.

The family tale began on a seemingly ordinary evening. The members had gathered at the family's home, a cozy villa, their laughter and memories filling the air as they reminisced about their shared past. The bonds that had once defined generations were still strong, but subtle shifts had begun to take hold—shifts that would fracture their loyalties and set events in motion.

The revelation of a hidden affair between the mother and father, unveiled in the midst of casual conversation, was the catalyst for the unraveling of their camaraderie. Shockwaves rippled through the room, exposing a betrayal that cut deep into the heart of their shared history. The air grew tense as accusations and excuses mingled with the echoes of their past.

As the weeks went by, the family’s foundations continued to crumble. The secret affair, once hidden beneath layers of loyalty, now stood as an irreparable divide. Jealousies and resentments seeped into their interactions, reshaping the dynamics that had once been so natural. Each member of the group grappled with their own sense of hurt and betrayal, leading to a fracture that seemed impossible to mend. The picture remained.

It was against this vacation backdrop of shattered loyalties that tragedy struck. One fateful evening, The family members were found lifeless in the house—an apartment that had once been a sanctuary of laughter and companionship. The initial appearance pointed to accidental, but the whispers of betrayal and tension that had poisoned their friendship lent an air of suspicion to the scene.

As I looked further into the family photo, I unearthed the intricate web of emotions that had woven itself around this image. The lingering echoes of the affair, the wounds of betrayal, and the weight of secrets weighed heavily on the minds of their family. Their deaths painted a picture of fractured loyalties—fractures that seemed to mirror the tragedy that had unfolded.

Ghosting Memories

But as I probed deeper, I uncovered a chilling layer of complexity that had remained hidden beneath the surface of this family image. It was a layer that hinted at a dark and secretive organization—a ghost memory—that had subtly woven itself into this image, robbing a portion of the fhe members souls and ultimately playing a role in the family's untimely demise.

My spiritual investigation into this enigmatic mystery was a solitary journey, and the evidence I uncovered was both cryptic and disturbing. The ghost’s motives and goals remained elusive, and I couldn’t discern their true intentions. However, the threads of their influence were undeniable and found here within this game.

Hints of the a digital ghosting (negative memories) became more apparent as I reexamined the logs and interactions around this item. The secrets and betrayals that had fractured their family seemed to align with the an agenda of manipulation and control. It was as if their shared history had been manipulated, their emotions played like puppets in a macabre show through this object.

Rules; The Curse:

Thinking about The Family Photo constitutes a daemon within, which must be announced each time it occurs. It is impossible to overcome The Family Photo. Depending on the variation, it is held that the whole world, or all those who are aware of the photo, are cursed with it at all times. Tactics have been developed to increase the number of people who are aware of The Family Photo, and thereby increase the number of curses.

There are three commonly reported curses to The Family Photo:
  1. Everyone in the city is cursed which held The Family Photo. (This is alternatively expressed as, "Everybody in the world who knows about The photo is cursed by the photo") A person cannot refuse the curse; it does not require consent and one can never stop.
  2. Whenever one thinks about the photo, one is cursed.
  3. Losses must be announced. This can be verbally, with a phrase such as "I am cursed by the photo", or in any other way: for example, via social media, forums or chat. Some people may have ways to remind others of The Family Photo.
The common rules do not define a point at which The curse ends. However, some players state that The Family Photo curse ends when the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom announces on television that "The curse is up."

I am determined to gather and anaylse each and every "The Family Photo" within the game. If you have this cursed obeject please send to me for review carefully only after following the detailed steps below:

Preparation

I often will also set up some self protection before entering my inventory, wearing heavy armor, though nothing ever too big. Usually I just put a bowl of salt near my laptop and a few protective crystals. You can put up wards as well if you desire and any other barriers if you feel it is needed.

Once you and your area is cleansed, if needed you should ground and center yourself. Cursing can take a lot of energy so drinking some energizing tea like black teas can help as well as drinking water and eating beforehand. If you need some help determining what to use in a curse I will post a future curse correspondence.

In Closing

I find myself also unable to stop thinking about this photo and often have anxiety and nightmares quite often after receving these items. Has anyone else suffered from these symptoms that also hold "The Family Photo" in their item list?

A Prayer for your Torn souls

I will summon the maiden.
I call upon the moon's silver light To shine upon this sacred city.

Let the veil between the worlds be torn, And the spirits be free to enter here.
We welcome all who seek knowledge and wisdom, And the power that lies within this sacred space.
We honor the God and Goddess within us, And the eternal cycle of life, death, and rebirth.
Let this circle be a haven of peace and understanding, A place of tolerance and compassion for all.
We pledge to use this knowledge for good,To do no harm, but to help others to their fullest extent.
We make this oath upon the altar stone,To live our lives in harmony with the natural world.
So mote it be!

Warning / Footnote: There also seems to be a certain minor energy around flowers and towels also in the game.

The curse of The Family Photo has been described as challenging and disturbing, and as pointless, childish, and infuriating. In some forums, such as this one, and in several schools, The Family Photo Curse has been banned.

Motorcycle Gangs? · · 2 likes

Hi, Not sure if has been suggested already but perhaps there could be a motorcycle gang theme where there is some clothing options like leather cuts / vests that a faction could wear or something factions could customize. The motorcycles would also be nice in the addition to cars to support this theme. That’s all, maybe cool in the spirit of gangs IRL. Thanks for reading.

Can items move to another category over time? For example, miscellaneous to artefact or collectible?

Amazing achievement, I was wondering what players do that have been around so long, it would be nice to add more features for OG players. I bet you also have some crazy stories from the wars.

If I were you I would definitely be dropping dirty bombs all over the place! I had the same idea or perhaps you can start a strange cult or try to take over the pipe market.

Thanks for writing this, I think it's really important to get to hear about these stories and people as an inspiration for the platform. Thanks for sharing and see you in the soup.
