EDIT: Why would Torn Staff ever allow such gloating happen? I mean it costs IRL time to make any progress in this game. Do Torn Staff even understand that? Why allow a major heist like that happen? Why allow the gloating?
I'm #22 Champion Sage in this game with just over 2 years play time here in Torn. I average "four hours" daily play time. I have mad ambitions about Torn, like getting into the top 100 battlestats and the likes – I am driven like that. But do I actually clock 4 hours in-game everyday? Definitely not. My guess is that I clock less than 2 actual hours in-game doing something I actually love (strategy). For context, I work in management consulting in real life and also used to play chess professionally.
My point? Sometimes the data tricks us away from the real stories. On the surface, I am a no-lifer putting in 4 hours daily on a browser game. In actual fact, I just happen to have Torn PDA perma-open on my cellphone, tablet and work laptop, with all the right alerts set up (cooldown times). Plus Torn has taught me to be ambitious. Now I think about life in # of days. For example, I am a certain type of doctor in real life, in my 40s. Now I plan to return to medical school for a degree in medicine – just 1500 days – because life's endgame for me is to retire as a medical doctor. Playing Torn inspired this. I am also a husband and a father. I look nothing like a low lifer.
Again, it's not what it looks like on the surface. You see no-lifers, I see folks with mad ambitions that I want to be around.
I find it absolutely amazing that adults can't get together in a room and iron out whatever differences they have. Rather, they would choose to nuke an asset. That's amazing, and unbelievable.
Apparently, Bloofield's AWOL, overbearing attitude and gaslighting triggered Slash; but Slash could have walked away with dignity too. Maybe other TornFM staff who supported her could have threatened Bloofield with mass resignation if Slash was not recalled. At least, there should have been some effort at reconciling the situation from both sides of the divide.
Well, it was a friendly 3-way exchange of banter between Noah and Kumo in Hawaii chat that carried over to me landing in Hawaii, Noah taking off from Hawaii for Torn and Kumo turning his "charm" on me.
That's why the bounties were not anonymous even though they could have been. There was no malice in the gesture ... It was just for fun ... And the fact that he has ED, is the point of the whole joke!
