[spreadsheet] war payroll version 2.1 · · 8 likes

Hello fellow Tornians, today I'm pleased to bring you version 2.1 of my final payroll.

New: In it, a more personal control has been implemented to calculate the performance coefficient, being able to modify the maximum, average and minimum values for this.

Whether you're an established leader looking for an alternative to what's been offered so far, a council member looking to change outdated payment methods, an entrepreneur looking to start a new adventure with your own faction and need your own war payslip, or just any player looking to learn what other payment options exist, this is your best option.

Are you looking to encourage defense among your factionmates? with pay based on net respect you can do it.

Are you a realistic leader and do you consider that the confrontations and efforts made by the players are not the same for everyone? Pay-for-performance is your thing.

Do you need to compensate for chain hits, maybe assists? Don't worry, you can do that with chain hit payments or payments based on the number of assists.

Do you want to promote healthy competition among your teammates? Surely one of the nine competitions is to your liking...

Are you worried that this new payment method won't allow you to pay out of respect as usual? Don't worry, you can still do so with the traditional pay out of respect. (Changes aren't always to everyone's liking, LOL)

The different payment methods are fully compatible with each other, meaning they complement each other, without having to choose only a single payment method if you don't want to. This is achieved by assigning percentages of the prize pool to each payment category, allowing you to allocate the entire prize pool to a single category, two categories, or all categories in different proportions.

A similar situation applies to competition prizes; each prize has a checkbox to determine whether that category will be taken into account when calculating the corresponding payouts.

or for example

This magnificent payout sheet offers many new options. Don't hesitate to contact me if you're interested.

To use this magnificent payout sheet, you'll need to have FFscouter installed and download the Yata attack report after each war.
It is presented in Excel format but is fully compatible and functional with Google Sheets.

Security in the handling of data: the use of this sheet does not require sharing or using any type of private data with me, such as APIs, IDs, access permissions, etc. Once in your possession, you can do it all on your own. You will only use your own access to Yata to extract the attack report. Under no circumstances will I need or request this type of data from you.

For the modest price of 75 million, it can be yours. Of course, the payment includes all the necessary technical assistance to teach you how to use its full potential and to resolve any questions or problems that may arise while I continue playing this wonderful game.

To learn more about this marvel, don't hesitate to contact me; I'll be happy to assist you and answer your questions.

Some questions and answers:

1- What is performance? This is a new payment category I've designed to try to compensate for the difference between the different levels of players in the faction. It's meant to motivate and reward the extra effort members put in based on the number of enemies they can hit and those they have to try to protect themselves from. It's common knowledge that sometimes, matchmaking benefits the top of the leaderboard, sometimes resulting in some members having no opponents who can take them down, while others may not have viable objectives. In these types of situations, for the big player, the confrontation is easy and they can earn a lot of respect very easily. Meanwhile, the little player has to work hard to score a point, mostly limiting themselves to assisting others and/or keeping an eye out to avoid bleeding too much, forcing them to fly and set alarms if they want to help win. All of this creates a difficulty coefficient, which the formula uses to gain new respect based on it. Furthermore, with the new functionality included in this version 2.1, this coefficient can be limited to the personal criteria deemed appropriate.

2- What are the competitions and how do they work? In this paysheet, I've established 9 competition categories with 3 qualifiers for each, making a total of 27 prizes up for grabs. The formulas extract the winning scores for each category and the names of the winning players. In the event of a tie, it displays all tied players and divides the prize equally among them. The money is distributed only to the prizes marked with "Y" in the validation column. Those marked with "N," although visible, will not receive any payment. You can see at all times how much money is allocated to each category and how much each player will receive (useful only in the event of a tie).

Hello comrades, I'm Kabry, a Torn player for just a year and a half.

First of all, I apologize for any grammatical errors I may make, I am Spanish and I am not fluent enough in English, so I am forced to use translation tools to achieve my goal.

Today I come to offer you my services as a designer of payment sheets, and as a sample I leave you these screenshots.

What you can see is an Excel file, a generic payment sheet template, meaning it allows for payments based on several categories.

The sheet doesn't work with an API; once you have it, it's yours. The data is extracted from the YATA report, the Torn war report, and the opposing faction profile pages. You must enter all this data yourself (I'll tell you how in case you don't know how).

                                                                Payment sheet description:

The sheet has four pages.

The first page (Payout) contains all the calculations; only three parameters can be modified:

  • The pot
    • As you can imagine, it corresponds to the amount of money you wish to use to make the payment.

  • The percentages for each payout category
    • Here you choose the portion of the pot to be allocated to each payment category. If you don't want to pay for any category, simply allocate 0% to that category.

  • The competition validation
    • The sheet contains a section, to the right of the table, for awarding prizes in 9 different categories. Each category contains 3 qualifiers. Using the validation field, toggle between Y and N, you choose whether to take into account each of the 27 prizes (9 categories x 3 qualifiers). In the event of a tie, the sheet distributes the prize equally among the winners. If a prize is not up for grabs, it is not taken into account in the distribution of the prizes. In other words, the proportional portion of the prize pool allocated to prizes is distributed solely among the active prizes.

The second page (Participants) contains the data obtained from the profile pages of the opposing factions. For proper use of all the sheet's functions, the use of FFScouter is required, and the results should appear on both pages.

The third page (Report) contains the data provided by Torn at the end of the war.

The fourth page (Yata) contains the data collected by Yata from the confrontation.

These last three pages must be filled out by the user; just copy and paste. The first can be filled out after the matchmaking process; just extract the information from the website (if you don't know how, I'll explain how). The other two must be filled out after the match (again, I'll explain how to do this if you don't know how).

                                                                                 Operation

Once you fill out the Participants, Report, and Yata pages, the first page, Payout, updates automatically, performing all the calculations and displaying the results. Any changes made to the source data, the jackpot, the percentages, or the prize validation, are immediately updated in the payout table.

The payout sheet, except for the three sections described above, is blocked for functional security reasons (to prevent formula modifications and thus errors) and corporate secrecy (to prevent plagiarism). We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

At this point, all that's left is to make a decision: How much do you want to distribute? How do you want to distribute it? What aspects do you want to pay for? Do you want to reward some of your colleagues' excellent scores?

                                                                                 Business

If you've read this far, you're probably interested, and it's time to talk business.
At Torn, almost nothing is free, and this Excel spreadsheet is no exception.
My price is 75 million. I'm sure Torn is full of payrolls, certainly better than this one, I don't doubt it, but this is the payment I consider appropriate. Needless to say, the payment includes all the advice, help, and troubleshooting that may arise while I play Torn. Unfortunately, I can't guarantee updates, as I'm not sure I'll be able to make updates of sufficient size and/or importance, at least not until I have a deeper understanding of people's needs.

If you would like more information about the sheet, do not hesitate to contact me, I will answer any questions you may have. I can also provide you with a sample file, with the data locked but where you can modify the jackpot, percentages, and prize validation so you can see firsthand how the spreadsheet behaves.

I can also design custom payment sheets; just tell me what you'd like to calculate, and I'll design it for you. We'll need to agree on a price, but if I can accommodate your request, I'll do so.

Thank you very much for your time, I hope to see you on the streets of Torn

Dear comrade ReconDalek, thank you for taking the time to read my post and contacting me to resolve your questions.

My spreadsheet is fully compatible with Google Sheets. It slightly changes the visual appearance of the conditional color formats, but it doesn't affect its functionality at all; it's merely aesthetic, almost negligible, and once it's yours, you could adjust it in Google Sheets if it matters too much to you.

Regarding the possibility of automating data retrieval, unfortunately, I don't yet have enough knowledge to implement it with complete confidence that it will work correctly and without errors. Although I'm working on it, I'm not an expert in the field (like many other comrades whose brilliant scripts I envy), and that doesn't allow me to offer that capability at this time. Therefore, I ask for your understanding.

My paysheet is simply a different version than usual. It counteracts automation with the versatility of offering the option to calculate payouts as usual (respect) or do it in a completely different way, including an innovative option of my own making that I've called performance.

There are colleagues with brilliant technical knowledge, outstanding scripts, and a positive reputation earned through their expertise. I'm just starting this adventure and I'm confident I can offer a different alternative in this ruthless Torn, but for now I can only go so far.

Thanks again for your time.
