Thanks for the input! Your math is correct about winning the jackpot, it’s low. Just like the IRL lottery (which has odds at 1 in 306 million). Mind that the jackpot will get higher as more people enter. I just started this so I put up my own 100 Xanax to start the pot.
I put the odds at the bottom of the second post. Unless my math is bad, your odds of winning the torn daily lotto are about the same as winning two Xanax here. Your odds of winning the torn weekly lotto are lower than winning the jackpot here. I want to be transparent about how this works so I appreciate you sharing your criticisms. As this project develops I will use feedback like this to make sure that it’s a fun balance of risk/reward, just like the lottery.
I reached the 20% tax based off the IRL 34% tax on lotteries. 34% seemed too high to me so I just landed on 20%. If you won a pot of say, 10,000 Xanax, you’d still be winning 8,000 Xanax. But I hear what you’re saying and I’ll take it to the team. Thank you again!

Total RNG:
The winning numbers are completely RNG. I use ChatGPT with the prompt "Draw four random numbers between 1 and 20, then draw a fifth power ball between 1 and 10." I use a new chat every time I generate the numbers to eliminate any potential AI bias.
Understanding the Odds:
The odds are calculated in excel using the formula =COMBIN(20,4)*10 (for jackpot). The odds of winning the Mega Pillions jackpot are better than winning a PI in the Casino, or winning jackpot on the slots. They are roughly equal to the odds of winning any of the three "lotteries" (which are technically raffles). I've worked hard based on my own calculations and discussions with many of you to develop odds that are fair, but that also will promote higher jackpots. There probably will not be a jackpot winner every week, but in an effort to offset your risk, I've added a prize for matching the power ball. You have a 1:10 chance to play for free, which is far better odds than any of the Torn Casino games (I encourage you to check the math yourself).
