First speed run level gets dropped today, anybody still playing or has the novelty already worn off?

Thought we could maybe post our best times for a bit of fun.

I dusted the platinum off last night so I'm all ready now.

We rotate trains and happy to train you in any area you want.

If you are interested in racing then the perks here are a great place to start!

COMPANY SOLD

What's next? · · 0 likes

So my first race in A class and I won and lapped every car.
NSX fully upgraded (kind of but not quite).

Obviously I will probably crash and burn in the next one ? . . . but what's next? Is it another NSX for dirt tracks? No way I'm affording a Cosworth, need the money elsewhere.

Also, side question. Does racing add to the CE or NNB at all or is it a complete separate entity? I expect it's separate but just checking.

Cheers!

Low level? No problem. · · 0 likes

Join our company and grow together.
Small wage to start with but a percentage of profits will be paid out and a bonus at every level.
Weekly company race and more perks to come!

I was hoping with the release of Arson that this might at least triple the returns of fire related crimes to make it more profitable for a short period . . but alas, no, I will just have to burn things at home in my british garden instead

Can't remember who I hit but had a 12 treater not showing up in logs so not sure how many others are missing as I wasn't keeping check of my log as I went. But definitely at least a 12 treater. Is it just big hits being weird?

CHEDBURN FEARS MY COMPANY!!!! ·

Does it make you feel more paranoid if I tell you that the company I set up 2 months before you (and then sold when it was 9*) has been 10 stars for quite a while now?

My old competition, we rose together but I stay on top!

The "profit" part that people have spoken about may have some truth, not just pure income? Because I always paid my staff the bare minimum, sometimes nothing at all - a true leader! -  so I always broke even or gained a tiny bit, whereas, from memory you paid some big boys to join early on didn't you?

I saw you rising like a thing that rises well, while throwing money out the window and I will admit I was concerned when you leapfrogged me like a champ.

Quite funny though, I sold my 9 because I couldn't be bothered to wait for it to get to 10, but by the time I had completed the city jobs and joined a 10 shop myself, my old shop was already a 10*  . . . meanwhile, old Supreme Racing languishes in the not good enough pool!

Good luck pal

Yeah the lighter seems fairly safe although I've had plenty of times where the fire has stalled in the high 90's and the lighter just isn't cutting it so ends up as a bit of a nerve sink, found that a glug of gas seems to be worth the risk to get it over the line when it's higher numbers as even when you crit it seems to be enough to finish the job off. Presumably walking around an inferno with a little lighter isn't really adding much 😅

It's quite good for nudging up some of the more technical fires though, getting it between 34-45% and things like that it can be quite accurate

Arson: Early Pictoral Guide · · 2 likes

a few points I've noticed to update:

1) you definitely do earn more for a higher percentage of burn, although the nerve + material cost probably outways this as it's not exactly raking in the money yet. but it obviously moves the crime experience on so at this stage it's probably worth doing as big a burn as you can to level up

2) if you are unsure which items will be okay for some jobs, there is a tick icon for recommended times to use. This only really shows up on the accidental / insurance claim jobs at the moment but I'm sure as we get more varied jobs and other items become available this will be useful.

3) you do not need to read the text every time on the plant object jobs, I've seen people worry about not knowing what items but the item is quite clear in both the app and website, you can tap the icon or hover to get the name of it, so you'll always know what evidence you need to plant. it's not a trick it tells you and once you know you can probably guess bu the outline. If you bulk buy a few of the items then they will automatically be ready to go, no need to figure it out

4) it's not guaranteed to succeed even if you follow everything. I have had jobs where I only used non-suspicious items and had the job fail for whatever reason . . . the standard jobs generally seem to be okay but the accidental causes I think there is always a tiny chance of failure, it's just the way the RNG rolls.

5) most of the times when you crit fail stoking a fire, it seems to still push the fire along, you just lose life or go to jail but it does seem to stoke the fire most of the time, so if you need 1 last stoke to hit the job criteria it is probably worth the risk . . . although that may add suspicion so, 50/50 roll on that

Arson: Early Pictoral Guide ·

Having read the official wiki on it I think all of the uniques for this crime have 100% chance to be successful providing that you successfully complete the job criteria.they said it works differently for this crime so provided you can satisfy the job requirements you should unlock the uniques?

Obviously I'm sure there are some other extra uniques not job specific, but anything relating to completing a job should automatically pop.

That's how I read it anyway and so far so good.

Arson: Early Pictoral Guide ·

Guess it's just RNG then. Although quite an extreme difference!

Arson: Early Pictoral Guide ·

Okay well I messed up today but it almost worked. 6 oxygen tanks then lit it up. Technically was a crit as I got injured but it burnt to 92%. Really needed 1 more but I miscalculated how much nerve I needed and couldn't use 1 more tank so no full destruction. Quite an expensive way to take down a barn!

Arson: Early Pictoral Guide · · 1 like

I would also like to know this as I don't seem to have enough things available to be less suspicious right now and last time I used oxygen it didn't do a lot so seems like a very expensive way to get it to total destruction.

Arson: Early Pictoral Guide · · 4 likes

I just used 8 Gas straight out the door lit it up and the Castle came down instantly.

I suspect as with all Torn things there is an element of RNG to every nerve spent so I may have just got lucky.

Our of curiosity how many did you use at the start? If you can remember now!

I have definitely found that fuel at the start is more effective than fuel being added. 1 obviously safer and 2 it seems to just produce more burn.

My adding gas to the fire was only getting a few extra % sometimes while adding more at the start seems to be easily instantly a better fire. It is actually saving me nerve now rather than trying to add it halfway through and not being very efficient.

[Crimes 2.0] Scamming: An In-Depth Guide ·

Does CE impact the probability to land on red?

Honestly I can have a fully motivated "client" with the widest possible movement bar and one tiny little bar of red, and I am almost certain it will hit that tiny red bar half the time regardless of how many other bars there are.

Like, is it equal chances for each bar or is red more likely and dark green less likely?

I always assumed it was equal and just the amount of bars determined how likely or unlikely it was going to be to land on it, but something def feels screwwd in the favour of red?

Is it truly that deep that red has some kind of secret force field around it sucking you in or am I just unlucky with the RNG?

So I've Got A Bit of An Interesting TidBit 2 Ask.. ·

Probably easier to just go work at a mechanic shop and pull it out of the car pot luck no?

Not that I've had many, 2 in the year+ I've been playing but I took a break from the job for half a year. So maybe 3-4 a year if lucky from the mechanic shop?

And then you can just crack on with crimes 2.0 anyway?  🤷

Have the changes to racing taken this script out of action? I've changed phones at the same time as the racing updates and I can't work out if it's me or the script not working in PDA now.
