Needing a side hustle to afford to play is wild. This is torn, not real life. People play it to escape the rat race, no one wants to get shit on by rich people in real life and come back and get shit on by rich people in game.
Also the only thing propping up point value right now is the fact Ched said he'd be happy to revert the changes if people asked for it and the resulting speculative market. The second he confirms that's not happening you'll see point value drop hard and the actual impact of this change will start to become evident.

The game now isn't the same as it was 5 years ago so this is a pretty bad faith arguement. Also how would you know what it's like being a new player in 2024 anyway? Having a PI 5 years ago was nowhere near as important as it is today. Matter of fact to be debt free in torn and actually start building wealth independantly you need your own PI and 2 billion for the bank which is around 3.5 billion dollars total and that's not including money you need to spend on happy jumps and xanax. Last RW I was in I got paid maybe 26million because everyone scraps over the lowest targets in any war now- it wasn't even due to lack of effort. Not being able to independantly earn a reasonable amount of money on my own is a serious downer.
Bro you honestly just sound like an IRL boomer. You bought your house back in the day for £30,000 and now you're telling noob millenials to stop eating avocado toast and work hard to be able to afford what you had whilst completely ignoring the fact your house is now worth £300,000 whilst wages have barely increased.
"as of right now you can make a proffit of 30k per set"
Brother, this number doesnt mean anything because it's not real. We have to wait until museum day to cash out on plushies and who knows what the point value will have dropped to by then? You certainly don't.
>Is a dollar now worth the same as it was back then in terms of trading power?
>Okay so you don't know what it's like to be a new player in 2024, you just act as though you do to the new players who look up to you.
>Starting today means you're up to 18 years behind so if you want to interact with anyone outside of the people who joined the same day as you you need to focus everything on stat growth. Doubly so now that RW is the only real source of income (for now)
>I'm in a pretty established faction and came from a pretty established faction too. In both of these factions it's been an issue. Maybe you don't notice it..... because you aren't a newer player?

If someone wants to recreate my profile picture using their real to life and honest to god hands I would be willing to pay for it as long as it's not asking stupid money. Feel free to DM as I'd hate to be hypothetically taking opportunities away from real people
More legitimate criticism drowned out choosing to reply to the least relevant points of the discussion and then acting like the playerbase is stupid.
Initial expectations were set and later goalposts were slyly shifted several times, but we're the stupid ones for having expectations.
Wonder why newer active players aren't interested in sticking with them
Yes boys if everyone does a heckin' hodl we can ride the value of points straight to the moon! /s

That's like saying if a random baby dies the world loses nothing. How would you know? Could the world function if new humans stopped being created?
Really bizarre point of view.

Yeah I mean being new and being 2000 days old but holding at 15 are two completely different things. They actually aren't even comparable situations to be in at all.
What level of delusion are you under that you actually think 2027 days in and a blue name later you're still a new player? You absolutely are not in that position at all?
Your arguement whole viewpoint hinges on the idea that there will actually be new ways of making money... When? What are people supposed to do in the meantime? If Ched was serious about increasing money earned elsewhere there would be something more than just vague promises. We already know that OCs 2.0 is going to be a singificant nerf in income too but there's no plans anywhere to replace any of this stuff with anything.
You also mentioned previously that major factions pay outside hits but I haven't seen that being a thing anywhere since the RW changes in my limited experience.
Thank you for typing this up because I got bored with the conversation but it's essentially exactly how I feel.
Okay boomer

I've gotta say too that as someone who has actually bought DPs in the past and was considering buying them again there's no chance in hell I'm going to be doing that now. What kind of moron would invest money into something that can be devalued over night on a whim?
This. With the rate of updates this game sees if Ched is serious about wanting to increase general payouts when can we actually expect to see that? Three years from now? Four? What are new people supposed to do in the meantime while the economy crashes? Surely the changes should be made all at the same time because most people don't like giving something up now for the promise of something that may or may not come later and without increased payouts anywhere its impossible to view this as anything other than tanking people's in game money making potential.
