People don't like changes. It is human nature. I am a newbie just started Torn a month ago. Knowledge about how to make money in Torn came gradually from reading guides. During my frist couple days, I didn't know anything about flying, trial and error a lot through other means.
Complaints refering worries for newbies is BS. Newbies like me joined Torn without any knowledge about flying. People who join Torn next week will not give a sht about this Pawn shop thing. They will find some other ways eventually.
Those complaining are those who relying their income or saving in Points. Billionaires will always be, because they started decades earlier and I don't care about them. I will just find other way. Trying to compete and race your way to be in that league just gonna get longer, that is. My objective in playing games is to have fun, not fighting my way to beat the oldies.
The only thing I think developer could do better was to make advance notice, which, in my opinion, would also induce negative impact. They surely have calculated this.
At the end of the day, it is just a game. You are not gaining anything from playing games, just wasting time (unless someone is paying you to play). I'm in my forties already and let me tell you guys, in real life, many Ohh Sht moments happen a lot in your life..... get over it and move on. If you feel you cannot take it anymore, just quit.
The amount of CS one can gain from this crime is limited by amount of jobs per day. If one wants to gain as fast CS as possible, he/she has to place less accelerant and stoke/dampen much more, to make maximum amount of “clicks” per job possible. If the job doesn’t require specific damage percentage, he/she will stoke and dampen much more back and forth as much as one can til emergency service arrive.
The interesting thing I see is Allenone had spent an average of 1000 nerve per day, a total of 7000 already in this crime. Natural nerve is 288 per day, how refil and alcohol had covered another 700…. I still can’t figure it out.
Patapouf had spent 500 nerve per day, half of Allenone, which I see possible…. Only 212 extra from nat regen.
I myself, had only 420 nerve to spend per day…. I did every arson job since day one and at skill 30 only. But I have much less stoke and dampen…. In fact, I rarely stoke at all.
Am I missing any updates? I can’t look up any attacking log older than 180 days anymore. In addition to that, any attacking log I can see now has no information regarding which part of the body was hit anymore. Only a crit or non crit info is shown. Did I accidentally set something wrong in the setting? Or this is the new updates I wasn’t aware of.
This is, however, a good and correct advice. In torn, being active is still king. If your money can be used as a capital in trading that produce higher than 70%ROI, it would be stupid to put it in the bank.
It s like in real life. If you know how to multiply/leverage your money much faster than putting it on passive income, then do it.
10/10 Bank merits give best ROI as a “passive income”.
Ask yourself, if you could be active enough to ignore the banking’s income.
Your average gain is less than 25 credits per day. Even with 210 credits from PSF won’t help much here. You ll be short of 400 by a very small margin. And this will remind you everyday from now on to do the mission always. Good luck !!
I have roughly calculated that, to get about 1% less damage by increasing def stat by 1%, your def must be at least 6 times opponent str already. Otherwise, def increase of 1% will never be able to reduced damge 1%.
Damage reduced is the same as damage done, they scale much more than stats.
For example, suppose you re having same Def as opponent s Str, A hit of 2000 damage is 50%mitigated and you receive 1000 damage. Increasing your def by huge amount of 50% will increase your dmg mitigation to 57%, you will be hit with 860, a decrease of 14% damage from original stat. The line is not linear but close at mid table like this, we can estimate a damage reduction of 0.28% for every 1% def increase. Much less when your stat gaps with enemy widen.
The damage decrease from armor is, however, applied directly to the damage incoming, means 1% armor deduct incoming dmg by 1%.
So, to make it super simple, an increase of Def stat by 4-5% can roughly get you that 1% less damage, if you wanna compare it with armor increase.
Happy jumps is just to save your training days. IMO, dvd happy jump is enough and should put you up to 130k-150k for each stat at most. After that, just 3xanax+refil will do.
99k jumps is too much money wasted. Save your cash for investment. Doing it once for the merit is ok though.
For me, the most important thing to do in Torn during start is to read guides. If you read most beginner guides and follow them, you will grow quickly.
Easy kickoff thing to do, is selling losses to support a PI rental. Without PI, you re wasting your time training.l on gyms.
You can spend some few points on some cheap upgrade, but save most for colina in class B, it will win many in dirt track in classA.
No need to rush climbing classes, get as many point and skill as possible.
The catch is, dont arrive in class A with less than 260 points available to fully (or almost fully) upgrade your first NSX, or you will not win in any race. In other classes, you re racing with some players who dont upgrade much but in class A, even your first race, they re mostly fully upgraded their car. Getting points in class A will become the most difficult thing and you will stuck there forever unless getting jobs perks.
Plan it well during classB. Use Colina and upgrade it according to the guide, not more. Get that 260 points or more before reaching class A.
When you stuck like this, the only way out is to join Mech Shop. You will end up getting no point at all if you reach class A and have no point saved for class A upgrade. Only Mech shop can help you.

Torn citizen can not wait the economy to run its course. They don’t want any changes that affect their benefit. If the change makes their life a bit difficult, they will complain. They want to become rich in the least amount of time, highest stat possible in a day, best faction growth in a year, and anything disturbing that means ched needs to modify something to suit their needs.
I really believe that if torn citizen can calm down a bit about this min max mentality, they can find peace and fun in the game. This game has many aspects to play with, that s its beauty. You can never catch up with the old, stat or money wise…. Don’t try too hard.
