Hi everyone, I know this will fall on deaf ears but I really just have to point out these two masterclass faction owners. If you see either of these two bozos leading your faction, get any bank money and leave ASAP.

Story:

So I had joined this faction called Sunnyvale Trailer Park which was an unranked non-warring faction because I had previously been in a super competitive warring faction and I just wanted to kick back for a bit and focus on crimes and building my bank balance to 2bn. This faction focused on Crimes and it's perks reflected that so I was just able to chill out in the faction for a good while.

The faction owner Rickey at the time decided that he wanted to start doing wars every so often, like 2 or 3 weeks in-between wars which was fine with me as I still wasn't that active, again just focusing on crimes and such. This faction was catered to new players and casual players alike so there were a lot of us with low stats. The first war went well, I was a high participant helping the war, the second one was garbage (thank you Torn ranked warring matchmaking lol), and then the third war was also rough, not many lower players for me and our even lower stats people to hit. We were getting ranked so high because we had 2 really high up players, and everyone else was extremely low.

This I suppose made the faction leaders unhappy because they were "carrying" a "crime focused faction" filled with new players in wars. WHO WOULD HAVE GUESSED THAT WOULD HAPPEN? So I guess they got mad and decided to jump ship to another faction, the actual leader (Rickey) left, and then it left just Randy leading the faction which they were planning on "nuking" the faction out of existence (whatever that means). They had also decided who would "make the cut" in which I got cut, so they sent out the below newsletter and kicked me out almost immediately.

I thought it was odd that I was kicked out because there was no indication in the newsletter that they were kicking people so I sent a message on the faction Discord which I was then immediately kicked as well lol. This then prompted me to message Rickey asking about the kick and balance.

I then decided to message Randy about getting the balance back and why I was kicked as well.

Then going back to Rickey to tell him what Randy told me

Then back to Randy

And now we are here, Randy decided to be a man child and put a bounty on me instead of sending me what I was owed. I am not surprised I suppose. I now expect to be kicked from my company, in which I have already cashed out all my job points so have at it Rickey :)

Yes, this is all over 3 million dollars...

Mind you, Randy has 10x my network, and Rickey has 40x, I guess they really need that 3m lol

TLDR:

Scumbag Faction Leaders run a "crime focused faction" then decide to enroll in wars and get mad when their faction catered to new players is carried by them with thousands of days played. Then they jump ship, kick most players and steal their faction balances. We were told to reach out to one of them for faction balance returns, and the response we get is pathetic and they put a bounty on me :)

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to bring this up from the perspective of a new player, but is it time to admit that removing the pawn shop's ability to buy points was a bad idea?

I know for me personally at least as a new player, all the ways of grinding to make good money has been drying up rapidly. With the market price of points plummeting, it has taken a bulk of the market a long with it, and now there are more people than ever selling losses in lieu of being able to fly and make good cash.

It's just kind of sad because I just was getting into the game right when the change was made, and now it seems like I am stuck in a rut that I have to be in longer than anyone else because I can't rely on flying to make good cash as a new player like everyone else did. Is it time to bring back the Pawn Shop Standard and make points have a real value? Selling losses CAN'T be the only reliable method of making cash as a new player without taking forever to make any decent money.

I just wanted to see yall's thoughts because idk, my view may be skewed because this directly changed my gameplay, but I wanted to see yall's thoughts.

That wasn't the point I was making, but sure, go ahead and hone in on a detail that I had forgotten about.

I am engagement farming all the fishermen of Torn, I knew they couldn't resist.

So I recently lost my job due to inactivity (irl things) and when I got on, within 24 hours, I had 4 job invites for 4 different mining corporations from low time accounts that are all in the same group of factions (SMTH) and have all had large masses of income added to them periodically.

Am I just schizo-ing out or is something just odd afoot?

Also I never posted that I needed a job (except for like a long ass time ago)

Anyone got a guide on ROI for stocks that is more current/live? I found one from about 3 years ago so it's a little old, just checking to see if anyone's got something current.

People use tossing pearls to swine to justify giving up on someone. Did the Christians give up when they were literally murdered for spreading the Word to the Vikings? Jesus says to literally go to the darkest places spiritually to spread his Word, so I don't think tossing pearls before swine applies to a public space, someone could read this and have the seed of faith planted in their mind.

You've definitely provided a lot of good information. I think we are also glossing over the fact that one of the main issues is that a lot of normal people can't afford a house because they can't cut it on the monthly payment.

The issue also is that nobody is building a 1000 sqft home anymore, all new homes are about 2000 or more square feet because it can fetch a better price. Such is life I suppose, there's no way to prevent that (without causing a lot of economic issues).

I also think that corporations shouldn't be allowed to own single family home properties, only multifamily properties, but that,xs a conversation for another day.

Our housing market has a lot of issues, but a 50 year mortgage isn't one of them. Nobody wants to address the real issue.

I see what you're saying, but if you think you might be moving, why buy a house anyway at 30 or 15 years mortgages? You are right, it would take a little bit to build any noticable amount of equity, but it would still be better than paying more for rent that you will never see a return of, and also your rent is variable to a degree, not your mortgage. You do realize that this will drive the monthly cost of houses down at 50 years, so it would also be way cheaper than renting in most places.

Also you're not figuring, a house with a monthly payment of 2k will be miles better and bigger than a 2k a month apartment.

Stop lining the pockets of landlords and businesses that depend on selling temporary housing to people, instead buy your own slice of land and own it.

This doesn't help the city folk, but smaller towns really can benefit from something like this.

I think they could be good in certain circumstances. Think about it, why rent a place when I could buy a home and build equity? Every dollar that gets taken off the principle is a dollar in your pocket worth of equity (as long as you don't let your house crumble around you). Would you rsther throw 2k a month at a landlord so they can keep lining their pockets, or throw 2k against your own loan of a home that you can sell and presumably get money back?

Also, at 50 years, you'll get a good interest rate and good monthly payment that if you're smart, you can throw extra money in to pay off that principle balance even faster than someone on a 30 year.
