reasons he shouldnt have been picked:

1. he has a indian wife and named his first son after vivek varaswamy, this goes awful with his base.
2. called trump americas Hitler and cultural heroin, among other insults.
3. questionable search history with dolphins that went public, and a story with molesting couches that, while made up, people ran with and it is easy to make political hit jobs around it.
4. very little government experience, only 19 months in senate.
5. very boring speaker, i watched his announcement speech, it was awful.
6. made a lot of awful comments in the past towards certain groups, seemingly conspiracy minded as well
7. is allied with project 2025 despite trump wanting to get away from it as it harms his campaign chances.
8. one of the lowest approval ratings of any senator in the country, and very unpopular in his own home state, net negative in polling for trump.
9. claimed he was potentially gay earlier in life but "grew out of it".
10. is a overall bad parent, and yells/insults at his kids for tiny things
11. was a drunkard in his college years, passed out on the floor several times, overall bad behavior when he was younger.
12. questionable behavior with kamala harris in wisconsin. 
13. photos of him in drag gear, posing in photos with girls in a urinal area

 I literally dont get the vance pick at all, most trumpers even hate him, he is the second time where someones VP pick brings them down in polling. why didnt trump choose tulsi gabbard or doug burgum, kim reynolds would of been a good pick too imo. vance is literally the worst pick for trump, i would never understand it. I want to look at this through the lense on if i was trump, who i would pick. his only saving grace is how young he is, 39, it might help with the youth vote.

im a reform party volunteer, i can tell you we got a lot of local candidates running on top of our RFK nomination, we want kennedy to break up the we the people party after the election and not run local candidates as we are afraid it will shrink our party again. we got candidates in colorado, rhode island, florida, the carolinas, ohio, several other places. we are focusing on rebuilding and putting in new bylaws to prevent another person like buchanan from taking over the party. i can share the reform party discord if you want.

he also isnt a anti vaxxer, he and his family are all vaccinated, they just want increased testing and for vaccine companies to be held liable for potential damages instead of given immunity.

also, thats exactly what happened historically. the 20th of july plot caused the arrest of 7000, and the executions of 4300. that was a failed attempt, imagine what would of happened if it was successful.

i really hate trump, but wishing political violence isnt good. even without arguing for moral reasons, killing trump would lead to the three percenters, proud boys, light foot milita, and oath keepers to cause political violence to the left. best to just hope he goes away on his own.

the "dog" was actually a goat btw. even if it was a dog, he was in asia at the time and of course he would agree to local customs. besides, we eat pigs, and they are smarter then dogs! i personally would be fine with a dog eater in any office except for being PETA chairman.

just what i remember from his interviews and such, kennedy wants three things

1. increased testing of vaccines
2. to make sure vaccine companies are held liable for potential damages
3. to make vaccines not mandatory for a majority of things unless they are absolutely required just to stay healthy

he and his kids are all vaccinated too, he never said all vaccines are bad or wants to ban them entirely.

honestly, if kennedy did not have the voice condition, i think he would of been polling another 3-4% higher. I know a LOT of people who cannot stand him speak that would of listened otherwise.

he was running as a third party, or group of third parties. he had 12 different party nominations, 7 of them got him on a ballot somewhere.

heres a fun fact for you. a no labels lawyer confirmed that they had a ticket, chris christie and joe lieberman, but when lieberman died, they couldnt find a democrat to take over as VP, so they decided not to field anyone.

yea, we need a third party, i hope one comes about soon that can actually shift americas politics for the better. ill keep supporting as many third parties as possible until then.

trump was also gonna run reform in 2000 until buchanan took his spot in the primary. 

yea. kennedy is doing this for a good purpose, i still support him, even if kennedy himself does badly, hopefully this blows a hole in the wall that is the duopoly, letting third parties spring fourth in the future. strong third party presidents do allow for strong third party performances downballot too.

also, 12 parties nominated kennedy at this point, six of them gave him ballot access in a specific state, so they all get a split of the federal funding.

theres some, but yea, like half of all third party runs are that. there are a lot of well meaning, sane people too though. we gotta filter the good from the bad.

im very disappointed in Nicole Shanahans statement earlier about potentially dropping out and endorsing trump. if they do drop, i will refuse to vote trump or kamala, i'll just vote for another third party. That is all i'm here to rant about. This is the worst thing Nicole could of said. Their funding absolutely dried up. Ill keep supporting Kennedy, but damn, sometimes it is hard. I feel like writing in Blake Huber if RFK and Shanahan drop, but there are a lot of potential write ins i'll be willing to look into.

third parties do win down ballot, thats exactly why i dont think its a grift (for most of them)

libertarians and greens both got 150+ down ballot seats, for example

vermont progressive party has vermonts lieutenant governor, auditor of accounts, 15 in the state hous/senate, including the president pro tempore of the senate, a county judge, tons of other county and local seats.

what i would like to see is for a sitting congressman/senator to run re-election as a third party, being the incumbent, if he did a good job, it should be a easier win. we also need more third party unity.

i hate the term grifting every time a third party candidate runs, i think most of them do have actual positive intentions, its just extremely difficult to break the two party system because of how entrenched it is in the american psyche, 40% of americans said they wanted to vote ross perot in exit polling, for example, but more then half didnt because they thought he had no chance of winning due to the two party system. this is why we need to break the habit of only caring about two parties.

Why did 2020 see such bad third party presidential candidates compared to 2016 and 2024? The third party candidates in 2020 seemed very lackluster. Lets compare.

2016: we had gary johnson, who was a former governor of new mexico, jill stein, a famous environmental advocate and physician who was a active writer, evan mcmullin, head of the house committee of foreign affairs and chief policy director of the house republican conference.

In 2024 we got the following major third party candidates: rfk jr (environmental lawyer, childrens health advocate, a kennedy), jill stein (see above), cornel west (very active writer, on the news constantly, helped organize the million man march, anti iraq war advocacy early on)

All these are big names and very influential in their respective areas.

Why did 2020 receive such a bad quality batch of third parties.

Howie hawkins is a perennial candidate who wrote two books and some news articles, he also was against the vietnam war and organized some protest.

Rocky de la fuente is a perennial candidate and automobile dealer.

Brock pierce ran a medium sized crypto company but was riddled with sexual assault claims and was associated with epstein.

No one else really.

I dont get it, between what was two great elections for third parties, 2020 had such unknown candidates who did nothing that could make them noteworthy. I love third parties and do research on them constantly, support them constantly, both up and down ballot, but i will never get why the 2020 cycle of presidential candidates is such a awful one.
