IS THE SOLUTION TO YOUR SPIRITUAL WOES HIDDEN IN THIS POST?
I am the great economist Herr Schuchenichtstornieren and I have found the great solution to fix the points market!
Just follow this simple guide and the market will......
The market will
The market will
The market will
the market has always been stable and it always beeeeeeeee
There is no need to worry, for I have the solution to bring the game economy to new heights! It's called, drumroll please,......
THE GREAT POINTS HOLE.
See supply and demand create a solution for the market to find the right price for a product.
If we lower the supply, the prices should increase right?
I have found a solution in these 5 easy steps:
Pay 5 points to every nub willing to pick up a shovel to dig the biggest hole you've seen
Collect some rich fancy people and tell them they can get a fancy little hat if they throw at least 1 million points to the hole, the more points you throw in the fancier your hat gets!
Aggregate enough money to buy a big tub of gasoline or several smaller cans and set the hole on fire!
Either buy a very big shovel or pay 5 points to people again to close the hole
See the point prices come back to life!
This is simply a plan that will definitely make the economy even more stable than it was! And it definitely won't backfire. Ched should add this like yesterday!
I have procured these lovely infographics for demonstration purposes so i hope you enjoy and call your local senator to get this plan into motion!:
WATCH TODAY AS TORN CITY'S FOREMOST ECONOMIST HERR SCHUCHENICHTSTORNIEREN UNRAVELS THE GREATEST MYSTERY OF OUR AGE!
Hello and welcome back everyone, today we will embark on a case of investigative discovery.
As you might recall, we discussed a solution about the points crisis in our last edition. Some of you might have wondered why Torn City's very own economist failed to adress this post, and that's what I wondered too.
That was until I found out that Lt_wolf has been missing for a week!
At the time, I chalked it up to them taking a small sabbatical, but then I found out ched is covering this up! How can they monitor the economy if they aren't here?
Something terrible must have happened! I immediately got in touch with my contacts and found out several leads on what fate might have befallen our dear lt_wolf.
THEORY 1: Revenge of the Community Manager
After the great points crash of 2024, a small post was made that falsely claimed that the economy might not be prosperous! How awful of them. When Bogie defended these economic choices they got bombarded with dislikes for some reason. this reportedly broke their streak of 2 years of positive karma forum posts. Did the community manager seek revenge?
My contacts have stumbled upon an interesting occurrence last week. Reportedly, a dumbass with OC perms added a lvl 15 nub to a plane hijacking! The hijacking was a success, however the noob who relied on flight income decided that they would pick an interesting target to land the plane on! It's unknown if lt_wolf was home when the plane crashed on a private island, or if it was even the right island, but the explosion was pretty cool!
It is an open secret at this point that there is a... ahem... certain kind of dungeon beneath Torn HQ. I went to visit them last week and when I was waiting for reception I heard the tell-tale signs that it was occupied at that moment. We can't know for sure why chedwick would be angry at the second best economist in the city after me, The point prices had stabilized right? Still, the whims of our lord and savior chedwick is fickle, and some of my contacts believe he might be kept there until prices stabilize. More. Cause they are stable.
Tldr for the following: The days of trade arbitration may be over.
There will be an initial period where people will try to spam their way to victory. Some will persist, some will lose interest.
Small sales will be punished more, expect people to hoard more items and do bulk sales when they need money.
A ton of people will quickly get the eco friendly honor as bulk purchases are easier.
Players collecting beers and candy to sell bulk will be affected as that strategy becomes unviable. Beer and candy prices may go down
High value/rare items may also be punished as visibility goes down, coz people don't want to pay a market fee, and advertising is hard.
Small traders will be pushed out as you won't be able to go offline and sell, big traders or overactive ones will still work.
Expect traders to sell items for less than market price, but get better profit margins as players are forced to pay the item market or sell to a trader.
In conclusion early- mid game players won't change much but traders might get f'd over. I would recommend adding a feature that will let you waive the market fee after an initial purchase as that is the role many of us use the bazaar for.
Let's see what happens. I am afraid the transition won't be fun though.
Interesting. Speculation that the point supply will drop rather than stabilize seems to be in. I guess the community doesn't have faith in balance.
It's better for me since I'm new but I think points are overvalued because of said speculation. I expect the prices will go back down if the 'points sink' turns into the new crimes 2.0
Let's see what happens though
Also small tidbit: if the points sink is just turning the token house into a points market there will be a short spike before the market turns to normal. Let's hope the sink won't be just a one time use but rather a continuous one
I think it will be pretty interesting to see how the economy will evolve.
The points market and xans will continue to go down in tandem, maybe cans will follow that.
Rw weapons will eventually stop making as much money as now too, as the market for good weapons get saturated.
Crimes are a semi decent way of making money but for most it's either not an option yet, or still worse than crimes 1.0 (I left just before crimes 2.0 at 45 nnb , a bit disappointed tbh)
The bazaars are also going to change, and from what I gather this will also cut into profits for many active people as they desperately try to advertise their bazaars on trade chat.
I think trading real time for torn money is going to become way worse in a couple of months. Most rich players will just sit on their stocks and watch as "number go up", and collect cash dividends while early to mid game players will be forced to either grind for pennies or pay up real-life dollars.
Edit: Companies are also a way to generate money. I am not going to name names but *ahem*(PSF)*ahem* some companies are also adding lot of money into the economy.
I guess the devs want us to grind irl to advance in game :D
God bless whales, they keep the game up after all, but I believe the recent changes will only benefit them. I hope the developers are cooking up some way for new players to make money, or at least that they'll admit they expect us to wait instead of optimizing our play.

I wonder how long it will be before they fold and bring the pawn shop back or add the fcking points sink that was promised.
Or maybe points will be 25k per one and the new meta for new players will turn into selling losses also crashing that business in a month or so. expect 200k per loss in the close future
Rankd wars don't happen every day you know? And new players are already disadvantaged with battle stats. Selling losses also isn't an option for factions who take themselves seriously. Flying used to be able to pay pi rent + 2 xans (I retired my old account a year ago but I remember the days) now even the most active beginner can't match the pace of someone who does light p2w!
Don't even mind that selling losses isn't an intended way to play! At least torn isn't advertised that way.
(I didn't talk about trading but you need capital for that and beginners obviously don't have any of that!)
What else can a beginner do to make money? not like crimes give anything but pocket change for a beginner
A game should reward activity, even if it's just for player retention. I hope they add more ways for dedicated players to make money.
I want to guest in a 10* AN for a week. I don't care about the money so I can send back any edvds I get, I can also start Monday if you want me to. Thanks already
