I have always loved making goofy comic strips and I saw this contest and thought "Hey let me see what I can do". After reviewing a lot of the entries, I think many of them will blow mine out of the water but regardless I wanted to share this 3 part series with you all. If you are curious as to why I chose whited out characters, it was definitely easier to do but I also wanted to kind of mimic the default profile pic as the characters in the story.
Each of the ending frames are from my actual logs, and I feel as though my own experiences as a very new player are being summed up in these strips well. I had way too much fun making this and wishing all the other entrants the best of luck!
Edit: Also plan to make a cover page + some extras to flesh it into a comic book pdf/hopefully a comic book that could be printed after the contest has ended. Wanted to originally but that will go over the 3 entries
[image: imgur.com] Howdy folks! My name is TheMrNewVegas, or MNV for short, and I am brand new to Torn. So far I am having a blast! Brings me back to some of my favorite Text RPGs as a child that I sadly didn't get to experience for too long and reliving the nostalgia all over again. Since I am a newbie I am looking for creative ways to make money to travel throughout Torn, and with my love for learning new things with photoshop and graphic design, I thought "Why not!".
Additionally, I also provide services in this thread for setting up faction Discord servers. Whether this be modifying permissions, bot implementation and editing, or full discord server creation, my prices will be below (If this is not allowed please let me know and I will remove it as soon as I know).

Pricing is variable upon requests. Depending on the details of your request, prices may vary but of course pricing is subject to your negotiation as well. For the time being, here are some placeholders that we can call our standard pricing/starting prices.
As it currently stands and due to some much needed advice, I don't believe my work is of quality to be put at a solid price as found on other GFX shops. Like everyone, I am learning day by day and will implement what I learn to ensure that the products I provide are of the best quality I can offer. That in mind, my prices will likely be lower than others for the time being until I am comfortable with the work I put out being of competitive quality!

Full Discord Setup: Prices Discussed Upon Inquiry Discord Graphics: 5-10M (Pricing Heavily Varied Upon Request Details)
These would include placeholder images for information sections in your discord amongst other items that would make your discord look more professional
Discord Permissions/Role Handling & Setup: 10M
Bot Implementation/Setup: 20M/Bot (Prices may decrease based upon bot specifics)
Thank you for taking a peak at my first forum post/my store! I hope to build a sizable portfolio with this post so that I can show off some of the work you guys let me do for you. Other than that, I look forward to hopefully working with and meeting some of you fine folks and best of luck out there in Torn City!

After reviewing the idea of this and negative reception received/general distaste for this idea I will be prematurely discontinuing Rolling Tides Casino. What seemed to be a great venture and idea in hindsight was most definitely not and the immediate reception was a stern wakeup call to discontinue this before any further negative reception could come of it. I appreciate the criticism, negative feedback, thumbs down, insight into the community's current feelings on these types of works, and everything else that came with this post. Take care folks and I look forward to moving forward with new ideas that are much better vetted and researched before work and designs go into them.

IRL obligations have lead me to have to close the shop indefinitely. Thank you to everyone who joined me in this and allowed me to produce your designs for you. I had a blast and hope that I can continue to do designs at a more leisurely pace in the not so distant future.
Sorry you feel like this in particular is a scam; Was not expecting a wholly negative reception to the idea and that is on me. Will likely just scrap this idea and move on as I'd rather not tarnish my name early on in my time with torn by being associated with a globally disliked concept. Do appreciate fair skepticism with outlined points though as was given with Stig's post
As with any casino, the odds are stacked against you so play responsibly and only with what you are willing to lose.
This is the following sentence to what you quoted. Casinos can be scammy, casinos can create/use poor practices or hide information to maintain an upper hand against there patron. I understand the sentiment and agree with that. This is why this post provides a look at the specific odds of each game, provides multiple sentences stating that yes, you will likely lose your money based upon the odds given, and overall tries to provide as much information as possible to ensure the user understands what they will be engaging in provided they play any Casino activities.
Again all of the aforementioned is pointless for me to argue because as I stated earlier, will likely be closing this down early to avoid causing any issues.
Fair points made and can appreciate the skepticism
- Red flag one is more than fair to be concerned about and happy to change that. When determining clauses I should write up, this seemed like a fair clause in my head but I wont say that I am perfect when judging my own terms. (Edit: Clause Removed)
- The bot does not win on a push and this is a misquote on my part; Apologies and I will correct that in the post.(Edit: Corrected)
- In regards to the final red flag, I will quote this section
"As it currently stands, this venture is solely funded and ran by myself. I do not have an innumerable amount of wealth, but will fulfill purchase requests that I have the ability to pay back granted wins are received."
With the above in mind, I do not plan to accept transactions which I cannot fulfill in the case that a win occurs. For now until I can accrue a much larger net worth or secure investors, I will only be accepting deposits that I have the ability to fulfill wins on. Granted a user would like to make an inquiry to my personal wealth before depositing, I would be more than happy to provide screenshots of my personal assets within the bank, stock market, etc (Edit: Added to the second section of the original post).
My account being 23 days old is one point I knew would be called out immediately. This is why I cover the idea of scamming users out of there money in the "Can I be Scammed" section
"Short Answer: Yes You Could Be; But That Would Be My Downfall As Well
Long Answer: I most definitely could scam users out of the funds received from this casino, but at best, I make out with some money and get hits placed against me/attacked every waking moment until I rage quit Torn or get banned. While this is not the reason for my intentions being honest with this endeavor, it is a guarantee to you as the player besides for my honest word.
Additionally, the bot in use (whose official Gambling Games FAQ can be found here) is not owned or operated by myself. I have no connection or affiliation to the bots owners nor do I intend to fork the bot to rig the odds in a way which may make the games horribly unfair. Please see Odds/Win Rate below or check the previous given link for official statistics on odds of the games provided."
Lets say I scam a user in this early or even somewhat later stages of development; My stats are terrible, my account is brand new, and as you quoted my personal net worth gear wise and generally is relatively low to the large majority of the player base. A majority of users here including yourself have years of work and progress ahead of me. In short, Im an easy hit and most definitely easy to keep hospitalized for an eternity if you or others wished it. This and my non-affiliation with the bot are the best guarantees I can give to the legitimacy of this endeavor.
I truly do want to make something fun, and I will not hide the intention that yes making money in the process is a definite goal (as is the case with any Casino, let alone business). As you can probably see with the graphic design side of things, I enjoy the idea that an idea such as graphic design, developing bots, running a casino outside of torn, or any other external idea can be a positive effector of progress and create growth in the very game itself while seemingly having zero ties. The game being sandbox in nature is exciting to me and I am approaching avenues that will both help my personal growth in the game while giving users the chance to experience similar growth (Whether it be through chance in the casino or through provision of external goods).
After reading some issues with users in the past running exit scams and creating unfair casinos, not to mention the issues in my own post that you pointed out, I can see where your early skepticism is coming from. Thank you for pointing out issues in the post and giving me an opportunity to respond to them! If you see any others please point them out because I truly do want to make something fun, reasonably fair, and that can build a level of trust through actions and not words.
