I’m relatively new to torn and would appreciate any advice on how to gain life. I know when you level up you get more life and I noticed there is a merit perk for it, is there any other ways to maximize your life stat?

I just did my first 99k happy jump, due to my candy shop company i work at recently getting to a 10 star, when i exchanged my job points i got around 50K happy then took my extasy, i saw that my happy was at 100,050
I thought you couldn't gain more than 99K?
was that a bug? or should i have spent more job points and tried to see how high it would let me go?
