I obviously don't have that much time in this game. However, I've been here long enough to have accumulated a LARGE number of chats. whether it be trade discussions, faction convos, recruiting for jobs, rental stuff, complaining, etc.
Why the heck can I not delete chats!?
My goodness I know I'm not the only person that makes sure I don't have any notifications pending, chats open, etc. I enjoy maintaining a clean look in my UI's no matter what game I play. Obviously, that's a me problem, I get it. Just feels like this could be a relatively trivial add for QOL. I get random messages from scammers and other chats that sit empty for the entirety of my torn life... please for the love of TornVana, TornHalla, whatever... please give me a way to delete chats.
I'm going to preference this post by saying, im a new player. My age is an accident of making the account and forgetting about it. I also dont have any issues spending real money to gather in game wealth.
That being said, i've noticed that there are millions upon millions of items for sale on the item market that serve no purpose. Yes sometimes people buy them for collectables or some other mundane reason ut that just leaves so many other items sitting there forever with no purpose. So obviously if you're newer your only recourse is to sell lower and lower until someone decides to buy that item. This method is trash for new players that have very few real options of making any sort of meaningful money, other than slutting.
This game has unbelievable potential still. Companies are being created that are buying arbitrary items with no connection to the actual market.
My suggestion, at least to start, would be to incorporate the companies to use items purchased that they sell to the npc world(from what i gather) from the item market. So if some hobo like me is on the street just starting out and looking through the trash and finds bottler caps. I could then store them up and sell them to the company offering the most $ per (could create fixed prices with quantities allowed, so 1 company could just buy them all up). Not only would this help new players have something to drive their growth other than relying on the goodwill of older players, but it would also give a purpose to early stage grinding. This is obviously a small example and im certain people much smarter than me could figure out an even better way to make this work. But I truly feel it would unlock even more potential out of this game by giving small players a financial pathway while also giving player made companies a means by which to facilitate this by doing something theyre doing already for the most part.
I’m a relatively new player myself. Anyone that looks into my history deep enough will see a weird anomaly. When I first created the account(from an Instagram ad) I logged in and was immediately overwhelmed. There is somewhat of a crash course but it doesn’t really help you figure out your way.. I literally did a couple of the starter things and then just didn’t log in again for nearly a year.. then I was playing as a noob with an account that was over a year old so my stats will never appear great but Idc.
More to the point. I feel like if the was a coach/mentor program implemented it could help do two things.. isolate bot accounts, and get people invested with genuine intrigue. There’s so much nuance to this game, having someone invested in pointing you in the right direction where both sides benefit feels like a no brainer.
When is the petition for a banking fail safe going to be damned before people really do start quitting over dumb mistakes like this. They could easily implement a system that has a max payout per faction member based on what the faction has said their max is. Even allowing max % of overage for members that are given loans in the negative.
A a newish player I can’t say I understand all the nuance… and obviously this is a crime game so you can’t exactly expect the humblest of people but at some point this seems to be “engineered to fail”

this was never intended as a post of frustration. The suggestion was simply a way to generate a flow of income for newer players that doesnt revolve around you being generous on a whim.
