Christmas Town

Christmas town typically runs from mid-december until the end of the year. Check the exact start and end times in the calendar (You can change your start/end times within a 6 hour window: 10-16TCT, choose a start time where you will be awake). 

You can't play Christmas Town from the hospital, jail, or when traveling.

Currency

• Christmas Buck: Obtained from chests, minigames, spin the Christmas Wheel, and santa. Can be exchanged for rewards you choose in the Christmas Shops. See below a section on exchanging them. 
  • Bucks carry over to the next year.
• Prize Coupons: Obtained from mini-games (max 5 per day).
  • Can be exchanged for rewards at the Coupon Exchange: ALL coupons you have are exchanged at once, and exchanging more at once would grant better and more rewards (source), so exchange them all once towards the end of Christmas Town.

  • Coupons carry over to the next year. 
• Chest Keys: These allow you to unlock Bronze, Silver, and Gold chests. Use them anytime you find a chest that matches your keys. If you're struggling to find chests, try less active maps with "chest" "loot" "keys" in the title, as they usually have concentrated chests in a small zone. Chests are publicaly shared, so don't hold on to keys.  

Note: Items collected by Christmas Town will drop in value closer to the end of the event, as people exchange in bulk, or the oversupply peaks. Don't sell most things without checking the Market Value (MV) charts (3 months, 6 months, 1 year). Use your own discretion. 

Networth 

The rich gets richer, the poor gets poorer a decent profit: Christmas Town drops on the map can vary from alcohol, candy, to BCTs, FHCs, and even poison mistletoes. Those with a higher networth will receive more valuable items (Source).

It's still a profitable event for everybody, I don't have the statistics to back this, but I made $270m with around $800-900m networth in my first year. This isn't easy money you're walking into, you still need to sell the loot, invest it, and use it wisely; or gamble it all away, if that's what you're into.

Check your networth in your personal stats (quick link). 

To increase your networth (this is not an exhaustive list): 

• RW weapons and armor contribute the MV of the unranked weapon/armor. So avoid making large purchases right before christmas town. 
• View how networth is calculated: announcement by Chedburn
• Deposit 3 months investments in the bank (ideally $2b at once) as that will add the entire interest to your networth, even though the investment isn't ready to be withdrawn. 
• Faction balance doesn't affect your networth, so take it out and place it in stocks. Buy a stock ticker for 50 points in the Points Market to use stocks, and invest in the highest ROI stocks, such as SYM. Use the Stocks ROI sheet if unsure what else to invest in.

Christmas Town Helper [Script] by Father

This script highlights the random loot on the map and assists in mini-games, which is super helpful. The guide assumes you are using the script when playing the recommended mini-games.

Mini Games

There are maps with all the mini-game tents close to each other, usually tends to be the popular maps. The official christmas town map has all the tents and the coordinates are listed in the wiki and visualized in this guide. 

Available Mini-Games (green ones are recommended, red ones are recommended AGAINST, blue ones should be done daily): 

• Christmas Wreath: Find and click on the decorations before the time runs out.  **Easy w/ Script (click on colored icons)

• Gingerbread Men: Catch the falling gingerbread men in your basket. You lose a life if they fall to the ground. **Easy on PC

• Hangman: Identify the Christmas-themed word by clicking the letters. You only get a limited number of tries. **Easy w/ Script (helps you guess)

• Present Pick: Pick a present to win its contents. **Super Easy

• Santa Claws: Find and click on any cat or dog before the time runs out. **Easy w/ Script (it grays out wrong boxes)

• Snowball Shooter: Shoot the Grinch and avoid everything else. Faster hits earn a higher score.

• Word Fixer: Unscramble the letters to form a Christmas-themed word. **Easy w/ Script (tells you the word)

• Garland Assemble: Rotate the pieces to create a continuous path from start to finish.  **Easy

• Spin the Wheel: Spin the wheel and win the prize you land on.  **Super Easy

• Pot: Be the last person to deposit an item to win the entire pot. DO NOT PLAY THIS, its a trap for gamblers 

• Typocalypse: Type the words as fast as possible to remove them from the conveyor.

Note:  If you feel you gonna lose at mini-game just click at the map below tent door to get out of the tent it will reset game progress (source).

Combination Chests

This is the other type of chests, which is a unique spawn per player. You can claim the prize as long as you can unlock it. 

You get 4 tries, and three numbers to guess in each round. Each number can only be used once in the correct combination. 

You get three outcomes for each number you try:

• Red: Wrong number
• Orange: Correct number, wrong position 
• Green: Correct number, correct position

Ornaments & Snow Globes

Ornaments and Snow Globes are stored in your inventory alongside currencies. Your inventory expands to multiple pages that are always enough to claim all ornaments and snow globes (the inventory is not limited). 

There are three types of collectibles:

• Speed Ornaments: bought from the Ornaments Shop covered in Exchanging Bucks section. They give 5% walkspeed each. Walkspeed doesn't have a huge impact, other than moving faster.
• Ornaments: Ornaments increase spawn rates for loot (1-5%) (super useful). They are obtained randomly from interacting with Christmas Town (mini-games, loot, etc). Try to interact with each of the mini-games until you get its associated ornament as long as you are not losing. Use this guide to know how to get ornaments 
• Snow Globes: These also increase spawn rates for loot (1% each).  They are obtained from player-created maps after completing their 'quests'. Use this guide or this guide (2025), or this guide list to get the snow globes or look up the map guides in the forums (if a guide is outdated). Maps with snow globes have a "prize" icon or a question mark in the map list. 

Snow Globe icon = you have completed the map's quest

Question icon = you haven't completed the quest, do so to get the snowglobe!

Note: Spawn rate affects how quickly random loot appears on the map (super useful), speed affects how fast you walk, but walking faster doesn't mean you'll get more loot, its an unnecessary investment of your Christmas bucks given the high capital required to buy the later ones. 

Bear in mind that maps with ornaments have 50% higher spawn rates, and spawn rates are also loosely tied to movement speed (not negatively impacted by speed ornaments), so just running in a straight line is going to result in slightly lowered spawns as a result. (source: bogie)

Maps

All maps were created through the effort of creative people in torn, and check them out when you could! 

Some maps have "Chests," "mini-games/games," "loot," written in the titles. These usually have the mini-game tents and Santa placed in convenient places so you don't have to walk too much, while they also have a straight pathway you can mindlessly walk for convenience. There also ones without these terms, so explore a bit and find your favorites for your dailies. 

Snow Globe (story) maps are the ones with a story, tend to be larger, and more detailed. They give a 1% permanent boost to your spawn rate once you complete them to get the snow globe. Snow Globe maps also have a 50% more spawn rate! (source) If you haven't finished your snow globe collection, do 1-2 story maps during your daily run.

Tips: Walk diagonally to walk faster. 

Random Loot

Random loot includes keys for chests, presents, and combination chests, all scattered on the map. Random loot is account-based and not map-based, so it doesn't matter where you check, except prioritize Snow Globe maps due to the 50% spawn rate boost. Your spawn rate effects how fast you get the random loot, while your networth affects the value of rewards. 

Every 6-8 hours, walk around, once you stop getting random loot (chest keys, combination chests, or gift boxes) for 10 minutes, stop. Repeat again in 6-8 hours.

!!! IMPORTANT !!!

There may be a new adjustment in 2025 with a set daily limit to drops, if you don't find anything else after 15 minutes, you may have hit your limit (source: "After a while, your map will stop spawning loot, but you can return the next day when a fresh set of loot will be available") There was a bug with spawn rates, they are back to what they were before.

There was some optimization changes that unintentionally affected the spawn rates. We have reverted the update as of two hours ago, so the spawn rate and spawning mechanics should be back to normal (same as last year).

 

As a compensation, we have buffed the spawn rate by 25% for the next 5 days. The buff will be applied from 22nd Dec 16:00 TCT -  27th Dec 16:00 TCT.

Tip: Check your logs to know 10 mins have passed, rather than keep track of the time manually. You can access the logs quickly from the top bar.

Daily Routine/ TL:DR

Daily routine: 

1. Meet Santa (once)
2. Play 5 mini-games (once). Use the Christmas Helper Script
3. Play Spin The Wheel (once)
4. Play Pick the Present (once)
5. Walk around maps every 6-8hrs looking for loot until you find nothing for 10+ mins 

Tips:

• DO NOT PLAY POT (more info on it here)
• Don't walk in straight lines (lowers spawn rate slightly) 
• You can hold the left click while directing your character in PC (rather than clicking repeatedly) 
• Avoid the Grinch (change maps). He looks like this and can steal items:

 

Maps: This is just a recommendation, I don't plan to list "good maps" for people to use, since I think every map is well made and ratings speak for themselves.  

Use maps with keywords like "Chests," "mini-games/games," "loot," written in the titles, or those set-up for convenience for dailies after you explore a bit to do your dailies (Santa, mini-games), and/or to do your walk for loot.

Use Snow Globe Maps to complete the story to get snow globes, and to walk around for loot due to 50%+ spawn rate boost. 

Event routine: 

1. Exchange all Prize Coupons (towards the end of Christmas Town) 
2. Exchange Christmas Bucks in the shops (periodically) (72 glass of beer first, then higher MV/buck items)
3. Obtain ornaments 
4. Obtain snow globes 
5. Sell Loot (use your discretion)

Where to exchange bucks? 

• Calculate the MV/Buck ratio to get higher values for the same amounts of tickets. More tickets to buy an item doesn't always mean more profit! 
• Exchange for items you could use
• Watch out for the MV before selling, as a lot of items might drop in value due to new supply and unchanged demand. Selling around March-April is a good approach if you can afford to wait. Otherwise follow best practices to sell without getting buymugged, or sell to traders.

Duke's Dump Giveaway

This event runs for 12 days, starting from December 14.

Every day between 9 and 10 TCT, Duke drops items of value into the dump, and more dumps scheduled randomly throughout the day. You can also complete tasks as requested by Duke in the General Forums for that day for extra prizes.

Note: It costs 5 energy to search the dump for each item. It's not recommended to search the dump, unless you are chasing the merits as energy is better spent in training. Most items in the dump are junk, as there's a merit for trashing 5k items (which most people drop low-value items to obtain it cheaply). It's not totally bad, for example searching once/if poison mistletoes are dropped would be a good use of energy, but it is a gamble for good luck nonetheless.

The Halloween event typically starts on October 25, with the exact time indicated in your calendar. 

Earning Treats:

• You receive treats for defeating players. 

• Defends don’t earn treats. 

• The base chance for receiving treats is 35% and increases by +5% with each basket upgrade, up to a max of 80%; and can increase by +20% when using scary outfit and weapon (non-stackable AND having unlocked their perks).

• On average, you receive 1.5 treats per attack. You can earn 1 to 120, or 1000 treats at once in the same attack, the odds of more treats increase with better basket upgrades. For more details on the number of treats per attack, check this post. 

• The level of the target, their stats, the outcome (leave, mug, hospitalize) don’t impact the chances of receiving treats.

Obtaining a Basket: 

Baskets become available to purchase starting at 12 TCT on the day the event starts. Purchase a basket from Sally’s Sweet Shop for $35 (1k baskets are restocked every 5 minutes). You can still buy a basket after having met the 100 daily city shop purchase limit. The basket is a permanent item and upgrades carry over every year. 

Halloween Basket Upgrades:  

• Spooky: 0 treats, 0 total

• Creepy: 5 treats, 5 total

• Freaky: 10 treats, 15 total

• Frightful: 25 treats, 40 total

• Haunting: 50 treats, 90 total

• Shocking: 100 treats, 190 total

Halloween is a very profitable event in the long run. After you have maxed the recommended upgrades, you are likely to make around $40m profits per 10 attacks (1 xanax). You also earn xp that contributes towards leveling up. Try to chain when attacking, which gives the faction respect!

Easter Egg is an event that comes up in March-April. It's a great way to earn eggs that give a lot of boosts useful for your growth.
Check out when the event starts in the Calendar. 

Routine/ TL:DR

1. Check the Calendar for the event start and end times.
2. Note down the time for the last 24 hours. 
3. Use tools to go through all pages where eggs can spawn:
   1. Option 1: Install the scripts Heasley's Egg Navigator and Egg Finder 
   2. Option 2: Install Egg Finder and go through the links in Easter Egg List
4. (if using TornTools) Turn on the following settings:
   1. "Let you know when an easter egg shows"
   2. "Show a blocking alert when an egg is detected" 
5. Travel towards the end of the event as eggs can spawn on unique pages (Fortune Teller in China, Cayman Bank, rehab page, Hunting page in SA) and once to each country (store + people pages) 
6. In the last 24 hours, no eggs will spawn, so go through all pages (from the egg navigator) once
   1. A maximum of two new eggs spawn per day. You get 11 new eggs per year; and eggs from previous years carry over.
   2. Use TornReport or your profile competition section to count the number of eggs you should expect
7. (optional) Participate in attacking Easter Bunny [17] NPC for loot

Easter Event Mechanics

• Easter Eggs randomly spawn on-screen during the event and will be added to a player's inventory when clicked.
• Eggs spawn randomly on pages over the course of the event and will not despawn, any eggs remaining at the end of the event will roll over to next year, but be placed on different pages.
• Easter Eggs will not spawn on pages that are inaccessible while flying.
• Eggs cease spawning in the final 24 hours of the event so players will have time to search for eggs they missed.
• All players will have roughly the same number of eggs spawn, as the spawn rate is no longer based on player activity levels
• You can't send, sell, trade, trash, or get rid of your own eggs. 
• It is possible for multiple eggs to spawn on the same page.
• Each player will spawn a maximum of eleven eggs. Source
• You can get eggs on casino pages even if you have self-excluded from the casino. 

Eggs List
Each egg adds 6 hour booster cooldown.

• Green Easter Egg - Effect: +500 Energy
• Red Easter Egg - Effect: +250 Nerve
• Yellow Easter Egg - Effect: +10,000 Happiness
• White Easter Egg - Effect: Halves current drug addiction
• Black Easter Egg - Effect: Cash reward based on lifetime crime earnings
• Blue Easter Egg - Effect: Triples life (at full health only)
• Brown Easter Egg - Effect: +1% to all working stats (permanent)
• Purple Easter Egg - Effect: +25% Mission Credits
• Gold Easter Egg - Effect: +1% to all battle stats (permanent) (Don't use this with low stats)

Suggestions for using Eggs
Each egg adds 6 hour booster cooldown.

• Green Easter Egg - Effect: +500 Energy

• Red Easter Egg - Effect: +250 Nerve
  • [best use] Stack high-income cracking targets and use red eggs to crack them all, while a friend in a detective agency arrests you afterwards and you split the rewards. Use the Crime Profitability script to identify high-value cracking targets (usually 5+ encryption levels)
  • Alternative uses include saving it for certain events like St. Patrick's day where expensive loot is dropped into certain crimes; or when new crimes come out so you can make a bit more profit from the low-supply high-demand items. 
  • You could use the egg when reading the book Shawshank Sure Ain't For Me! (Large jail bust & escape boost for 31 days). Source 
• Yellow Easter Egg - Effect: +10,000 Happiness (H)
  • Use 3-4 of those eggs to be able to do a 99k jump. 
    • Three Eggs: 4-5k H from a PI + 30k H from three eggs + 15-17.5k H from 6-7 eDVDs (you'll need extra booster cooldown perks in a faction) 
    • Four Eggs: 4-5k H from a PI + 40k H from four eggs + 5-7.5k H from 2-3 edvds 
• White Easter Egg - Effect: Halves current drug addiction
  • Save this until your rehab costs are too high. Example of how high they can get is here: Rehab Bill and White Egg bragging Thread
• Black Easter Egg - Effect: Cash reward based on lifetime crime earnings
  • This egg gives you a cash payout equivalent to 1% of your lifetime crime gains. Source 
  • You can check out your crime profits in Torn Report Crimes 2.0 and Torn Report Crimes 1.0. 
• Blue Easter Egg - Effect: Triples life (at full health only)
  • You can use this during wars or attacks. You need to be at full HP to use it. 
• Brown Easter Egg - Effect: +1% to all working stats (permanent)
  • The higher your work stats, the better the returns. So wait as much as you're willing before using it.
  • This is not a passive effect; the egg provides one-time permanent stat gain
• Purple Easter Egg - Effect: +25% Mission Credits
  • Save this until you have 10k or 20k+ mission credits OR save it until a book that you really want shows up in the mission store, and using the egg will allow you to buy the book if you're short OR use this egg before making large purchases in the mission store. 
  • Note: Do your missions. They allow you to buy books with great perks. The only way to get books is city finds (rare drops), mission store, and subscriber status monthly rewards. But what makes mission credits worth it is weapon mods that you can buy. Mod benefits range from increased accuracy and damage, to increased crit rate, ammo conservation, and even reduced enemy stealth and accuracy. The mods are better than some RW weapon bonuses. You can also buy special ammo (of the weapons you have equipped), but I recommend shoplifting big Al's gun shop instead. 
• Gold Easter Egg - Effect: +1% to all battle stats (permanent) (Don't use this with low stats)
  • This is equivalent to FOUR stat enhancers (worth roughly 1.8b!). Do NOT mistake this with yellow eggs and use it by accident. Save it until you are doing SE training and have billions of stats.

Tourism Day doubles the travel capacity on September 27 every year. Check the Calendar for the start and end times. The event runs for 48 hrs. 

Only flights that start within the event will have double capacity; meaning if you started a flight 2 mins before the event, then you're stuck on a flight that doesn't include the doubled capacity. 

Maximize Tourism Day:

• +3 = Buying a Large Suitcase from the item market ($10.3m) or hawaii ($10m). Note: suitcases don't stack, so don't bother with a small/medium suitcase. 

• +10 = Renting a Private Island to use the Airstrip (don't forget to hire a pilot to use the airstrip, it reduces travel times!)

• + up to 10 max = Faction upgrades 

• Company Perks (reminder there is a 3 day recruit period before receiving perks): 
  • +2 = 3* Cruise Line 
  • +5 (or just +2 from 3*) = 10* Cruise Line 
  • +2 = 3* Lingerie Store
  • Business Class Travel = 10* Lingerie Store (halves travel time)
  • +5 Plushies = 7* Toy Store 
  • +5 Flowers = 7* Flower Shop
• Books:

Travel Recommendations: 

• Always travel to the locations with the highest profits per minute and ones that have items in-stock when you'd land. I personally use TornPDA's restock chart to figure that out. 

• Set timers and travel back within 15 seconds of landing to avoid being mugged.

International Beer Day

During International Beer Day, there's 5x nerve gain from drinking beer. This only applies to Bottle of Beer and Glass of Beer (NOT ALL ALCOHOL).

The event runs for 48 hours on the first Friday of every August.

Note that the event start times are different, you may check and change your start time from the top bar in the Calendar. Make sure to plan to have 0 booster cooldown when the event starts!

Obtaining Beer (5 nerve each during the event):

• Buy bottles from the item market (~$600 each) 

• Buy bottles from Bits n Bobs shop (100 for $1000 each). Note: city shops have a daily 100-item limit and restock every quarter hour.

Obtaining Glasses of Beer (10 nerve each during the event):

• Use a Keg of Beer (~$11 million) to tap up to 50 beers.

• Keg break risk is random -- it may break on the first tap or last 400+ uses.

• On average, players get about 80 glasses per keg.

• Recommended approach: tap 80 times, then sell the keg if it survives to recover costs.

• You can't buy, sell, send, find, or trade glasses of beer. The ONLY way to obtain them is through the Keg of beer and Christmas town event (guide is linked, use it to prep for next year!)

Beer Day Tips:

Participate in Beer day to do more crimes. This helps increase your 'Crime Experience', and in return increases your pass rate in Organized crimes and your natural nerve bar limit. Maxing out crimes gives merits.

One merit that requires stacking nerve is Notorios honor bar: Obtain 100% notoriety in all shops the same time in shoplifting. All security and cameras should be working when you attempt to get the merit. The lower your shoplifting level, the easier it is to obtain the merit.

• 7* Grocery Store -- Absorption: 10% consumable boost
• 7* Pub -- Lightweight: 50% bottle of alcohol boost
• Get Drunk and Lose Dignity Book: Doubles alcohol effects for 31 days. 
• Faction Perks - Voracity Secondary Branch, Alcohol effect: Increase nerve gain from alcohol up to 50%

Decrease Cooldown per bottle or glass of beer:

• 3* Grocery Store -- Fast Metabolism: 10% consumable cooldown
• 10* Restaurant --  Professional Metabolism: 25% consumable cooldown reduction
• 3* Mining Corporation -- Thirsty Work: 30% alcohol cooldown reduction
• Book : Self Control Is For Losers: Decreases all medical cooldowns by 50% for 31 days.
• Faction Perks - Voracity Main Branch, Booster cooldown: Adds up to 24h of booster cooldown. 
  
  

Note: New employees will have a temporary 'Recruit' restriction for 72 hours where they will NOT be able to use company perks or receive training.
