I had a hard time staying interested in this game, despite a lot of my friends playing. 

we eventually started wars with the faction I was in, and that was more of a chore than anything else.

that with the fact that there’s no limit to battle stats, meaning I’d never get to any “end game content” as there’s no way to catch up to people who play religiously, the game lost most if not all draw for me.

The final straw? We were in a faction war with people who not only appeared to be scripting in ways that are against the rules, they also were very antagonistic about it. I found entertainment in “not overly clever” profile pictures that mocked them a little. They loved it! So much so they began to threaten my faction and even my marriage partner. If I did not take down the profile pictures they would raid and destroy my faction.

My faction leader pleaded with me to take them down. I didn’t like the fact that although they started it, they would bully their way into controlling my profile pictures. “If they don't like it, don’t look at my profile.” I thought. That was the final straw for me. People trying to ruin a whole other faction cause they can’t take a joke. 

that was the tipping point for me, and I admit I almost went down the side of quitting. “Why bother with a game I don’t even really enjoy in the first place.” I thought to myself. So I gave all my wealth to my partner, and took down the pictures. Fully intending to not log on again. But as I lay watching a show before bed, a new plan began to percolate. 

Why should I quit, I finally found something entertaining in the game. I could match these childish thin-skinned bozos with an iron will if I had a mind too, and thus a petty little troll was born!

I logged back in, left my faction to save them from reprimand. Moved out of my private island to save my partner from stink bombs and toilet paper, and finally, scraped together the funds I needed to begin the faction “The Bozohounds”, a terribly clever jibe at the offending faction. Let the true assault began!

I made new and more entertaining profile pics, that earned me threats to my person, outside of the game no less. The mods were kind enough to shut down that sort of activity. For although I may be a troll, I have the common decency to keep it within the limits of the game, unlike the members of “who shall not be named”. They even raided me within minutes of my faction being started. I dodged them for days until they eventually gave up and stopped the raid. I personally count that as a win!

I’ve had a total of about 5 hours without a bounty on my head since all this started, and countless TP, stink bombs and dog poo against my oh so costly detached home. Now I login to hit the gym a couple times a day and use my army points when I’ve collected a decent chunk. Mostly however I log in to continue the tally of how much money and time they’ve wasted on “Making this game not fun for me.” 

Oh you stupid little fools. Keep feeding the troll.

Are there any SSL exclusive factions out there? With perks specific to helping players like us progress?

I found entertainment in a game that otherwise didn’t peak my interest, regardless of skill or lack there of. What’s so hard to understand. Skill isn’t part of the post.

 At least I’m not too dumb to figure out the point of an admittedly silly post, the silliness is in fact the POINT. How many ways can you explain 1+1=11 to an idiot before it’s just sad.

The whole idea of “play game this way or gtfo. Git gud nub” is rather overused and a boring ideology for most games these days. Games should be fun, and discovering fun ways to enjoy your spare time. This whole “min maxing meta gaming” generation of games reminds me of when people used to buy walk through books for final fantasy 7. Why the heck are you even playing a game if you’re just doing exactly what someone else tells you to do. You’re not playing, they are playing through you. Sounds more like a job. “Do this, this way dont think, step there, don’t think. follow what I say, don’t think.” Even now y’all call this a skill issue, I don’t even think you really read the post! I generally agree with your point but this thread is the most time I’ve put into it in one session in recent days, while they piss their time and money away on someone who’s in it for them to piss their time and money away.

Well pinguux, I’m not sure where you got your information but I was raided. As for the multiple locations, I was writing a response in another thread about the game being stale. I enjoyed writing it enough I thought it could use its own post! Not sure what case you think I’m trying to make though, if you think of a good one let me know!
