Rw matchup very unbalanced · · 5 likes

Today my faction was assigned an rw opponent faction and only maybe two of our players can hit maybe two of theirs.  Our highest level guy is 35 while 5 of the other team is level 40+.  I think the system tries to balance levels v number of members in a faction.  If so, the algorithm needs to be adjusted to account for level variances and total BS differences as well.  The forum posts I've read indicate that this is supposed to be taken into consideration.  But maybe some recent update threw a wrench into the works.  Our team having more members is irrelevant when the levels and BS differences are so great and there's no chance whatsoever of any sport or competition.  Can you please look at our two factions and their members for yourself.  We don't mind the occasional black eye.  But being chained up, held upside down and then being beaten in the face with a baseball bat while also being set a fire seems a bit excessive and not fun at all, which is what this matchup is.  Can you please check the differences, cancel this war, and schedule both teams with other, more compatible teams asap?  We have no problem with fighting.  We just want a shot at fighting back in a fair match.  Thanks.

What would you do if your faction leader ignored everyone when it was time to give the war payouts?  What if he immediately enlisted the faction in yet another war, locking the roster?  And then, what if you discovered that he was also selling the faction without alerting anyone in the faction so he could take all the $ and run?  Because that's what happened this past week in BRICKS.  And we're not happy about it.

I look at stuff.  A lot.  So when I looked at my leader's profile a few days ago while waiting for us all to get paid I noticed that he was now living in a shack.  That was my first clue that something wasn't quite right.  But I chalked it up to us losing a rw and PIs being expensive to maintain.  But we DID still get a solid cache from participation, so that really didn't make that much sense.  So I looked deeper.

And that's where I found he was slick selling the faction out from under us.  https://www.torn.com/forums.php#/p=threads&f=9&t=15907647&b=0&a=0&start=11620&to=25217883

I copied the link and pasted it in the fac chat to give the guys a heads up and ask him in front of everyone what the deal was.  His answer was some lame crap about how he's not selling anything.  I guess he didn't bother to look at the link.  So I reposted the link and my question in fac chat again.  And then he went offline for over 30 hrs... Even though the latest rw was about to start, so over 24 hrs of it had passed before he bothered to come back online.

We think his plan was to keep all the proceeds from BOTH wars and dump the fac for an extra couple hundred million bucks on some poor unsuspecting schmuck, change his name, and be gone like a thief in the night... unless of course he's just an alt funnelling all this to his main account of course.

Why do we suspect he's a multi?  Because he's been selling losses harder and longer than I have (which is a lot because I'm not using any real $ to buy DPs to fuel my success (and I'm not knocking anybody that does)) but his net worth is garbage, so either he's filling up those slot machines for y'all or some other account is getting filthy rich.  I guess it all depends on how much he suffers from the Dunne-Krueger Effect (which is a lovely bit of psychology about people overestimating their capabilities in spite of there being absolutely no factual basis for such a belief; frequently found in those with Antisocial Personality Disorder).  And sure, in a crimes-centric game I expect to meet some sharks.  But "predators like the easy meal " is the way my dad says it.

But we're NOT the easy meal.  So, until just a few hours ago, we weren't participating in our current war, just so he'd not win yet another cache off of us.  Some folks are in a hurry to jump out now to go to a better home and I can't blame them.  I'm ready to go too, but I'm just a little bit more petty I guess, because I really wanted to have us win by just a single attack being made and having the time reduce the target points goal until that one attack won the war, so minimum prize if anything from crap participation this time.

So if anybody does buy the BRICKS she'll: that's all it'll be: a shell of its formee self.  Personally I want to see it raided after I leave so that he can't even sell it.  Ever.

And it's not even about the $ for me.  I only scored 4 hits, so only about $1 mil in payment to me is missing, which is what we spend on TP here, right?  But my fellow faction mates really put in the work and deserve their pay.  To me there's a huge difference in setting a wild bazaar price then someone buying it versus taking advantage of a bunch of new accounts and screwing them 3 times in a row, ESPECIALLY when holding a position of authority over them and supposedly of trust.

Like most of my faction mates I have a new home lined up, but I'm sure some of them would love to hear from someone willing to take them in and train them properly instead of just using them as batteries for their bank accounts.

The horde of zombies lumbering ever closer, whispering their desire in hoarse hissing breaths, " Xanax... Xanax..."; but there was no more Xanax to give them because they had lost the previos war to a stronger zombie horde directed by a necromancer that wasn't as salty as the other recently met necromancers had been, but then, "Xanax... Xanax...", brings you back to the present situation of impending doom and in a desperate plea for mercy you agree to cash out some stocks so you can visit the local drug dealer to resupply your horde with their favorite consumable so that they will rally once more under your foul necromantic banner: marching into some new untold hell as your heralds of doom and gloom, that you might terrorize the populace with your legendary plunder - caches -  because you're not the hero of this story... but the villain!

Rw matchup very unbalanced ·

I did read up on it which is why I submitted the report.  Specifically regarding the following, copied from the wiki:

"Hidden Rank

To preserve decent matchmaking when factions first start warring, all enlisted factions have been assigned with a Hidden Rank that, if higher, overrides their Actual Rank.

Hidden Ranks are solely based on a faction's average stat-score value of the top 80% of its members. There's an algorithm that determines a faction's Hidden Rank based on their member's average statscore.

The very top factions with a stat score of over 200,000 receive the highest possible Hidden Rank of Platinum III. Factions are then bracketed below this in increments of 1.3x, meaning that factions with a stat score of between 153,846 and 200,000 get Platinum II, 118,343 to 153,846 get Platinum I, and so on and so forth.

Hidden Rank Ranges

Stat Score Hidden Rank

Over 200,000 Platinum III

153,846 - 200,000 Platinum II

118,343 - 153,846 Platinum I

91,033 - 118,343 Platinum 0

70,025 - 91,033 Gold III

53,865 - 70,025 Gold II

41,435 - 53,865 Gold I

31,873 - 41,435 Gold 0

24,517 - 31,873 Silver III

18,859 - 24,517 Silver II

14,507 - 18,859 Silver I

11,159 - 14,507 Silver 0

8,584 - 11,159 Bronze III

6,603 - 8,584 Bronze II

5,079 - 6,603 Bronze I

3,907 - 5,079 Bronze 0

Less than 3,907 Metal (Unranked)

It's this section that's buggy because this is supposed to consider stats and weight them appropriately, after which the +1/-1 factor applies.  Somehow this seems to have been skipped in the order of operations.
