This is in response to FirstL15ht‘s comment on my first impressions post:
“Wait until you survived the entire experience and update here. Just to clarify, ‘survived’ means staying active with your team until the end, no quitting halfway”.
I was apart of Team Lumberjacks and I surprisingly did survive based on the parameters highlighted above, up until we got chopped (heh), that is.
That experience definitely was something. Here goes:
I expected good ol fashioned war and battles: attack, defend, bloodshed, fire, explosions, neck to neck showdowns, late night ambush, and the like— pure forking chaos. Nope. Straight politics and snake strategies. Old grudges and “yes daddies” from a bunch of manicured strokers. What. A. Bore. I saw it coming too because I’d been told about the Island Wars and the who’s who and what’s what. Dick riders that’s who, and cock sucking is what.
Who do I think will win? Not that you asked, but I think TB, short for tuberculosis. Why? Idk just a guess since they have the most lives currently and every time I saw TB in the team chats, I kept thinking of the lung disease, kinda metal IMO.
A lot of people don’t seem happy with Eliminations anymore. Though unlike the Tornizens in the forums displaying their disappointment and displeasure, I genuinely had a blast. My team and I had a well rounded group of people, structured schedules and routine, we were genuinely on top of our shite.
^— Maybe it’s the patriotism, maybe it’s the exhibited mutual effort and camaraderie but I feel I was put in the best team ever. Such good energy, hype, coordination, communication, and amazing council and leadership.
Was this worth the week of no training? Eh, yes-ish, only because of my team. Besides that, no, not really if you’re new to the game unless you’re in the rigged 1st/top 3 teams.
Will I join again next year? I’m still deciding on that. I thought this event was a show of resilience, grit and determination, brute force, coordination, and teamwork. But nope, just a playground for the older more well known players of the game to exercise their egos— essentially what war is nowadays, anyway.
Overall, had a fun time, though am disappointed by what the event seems like it has become (according to other players who have participated in previous years). Special thanks to my team for making this a great first elimination event!
TLDR: First elim was fun because of team but disappointing because it’s an ego fest. Expected more battling and a fair fight to the death, not worth joining unless your team is practically rigged to win. Prediction: Tuberculosis wins.
