I am a relatively new player and have only made two friends but have made almost 10 enemies. I dont even do anything but mostly race or bounty hunt. Then im minding my own business and a random high level player will just keep mugging me over and over and over and over again. I politely message them and get some crazy flaming response back. I understand torn is a gritty underworld but do people not realize this is just a game? No need to chirp and verbally harass someone after you just took away a week of gameplay from them.
At what line is it "roleplay" and verbal harassment.
What is everyone's thoughts on this? As someone with degrees in Emergency Management and Planning I see it from a different perspective.
There are two sides of response. Preaction and reaction. Most places don't do very good preaction, or preventative measures. When we train we plan, we try to train and plan for everything. Unfortunately many times when the event we train for finally happens it's hard to control it. Although the general public sees fire fighters as "responders" responding once a disaster happens, the best fire fighters are the ones that make sure no fire happens in the first place. This can be done with strict fire inspections, building codes, education, training and pre-planning. In my educate opinion the LAFD response to the fire has been a positive one. They reacted fast and took action. Unfortunately it seems politics has played a large roll in their funding and apparatus capabilities. I'm seeing videos online of fire department members using what look like over the shoulder hand bags filled with water to put out the flames. Never have I seen something like this before. Meanwhile on the other end tons of amazing videos and stories are coming out with heroic saves done by the LAFD. It's a shame politics are putting lives on the line.
My prayers are with the citizens and first responders in that area.
I could care less about karma or points or anything. Didnt realize that in order to play torn you have to get a diagnosis of mentally unstable from your psychiatrist and the prescription is a link to sign up here lmao
