Apologies Artist folks - didn't mean to upset you all.
Currently on Mounjaro - very similar.
Positives :
Appetite suppresant - really works - I have stopped snacking.
Feel fuller for longer.
Feel full quicker.
Better portion control.
Results in smaller portions.
Changes your relationship with food - for me - completely switched off "food noise" - that almost constant desire to be eating something - which I didnt realise was there - until its not.
Sleep better, but less hours.
Shopping bill reduced dramatically.
Eating better quality food - lots of fruit and veg and protein.
Rapid weightloss for me : 2 1/2 St in 5 weeks.
Healthier diet.
Negatives (some with positive outcomes)
Cost. £180 /month
Injection day - usually feel nauseous for a couple of days afterwards - reduces intake though ...
I've been eating lots of protein and veg - new toilet habits.....
Constipation.
Piles.
(My wife has had diorrhea)
Strong urine. (V Important - you MUST drink lots of water)
I aim for at least 6-8 pints of watrr a day.
If not dehydration headaches. (Exactly like a hangover)
Important - these drugs are hormonal - they change the behaviour of your digestive system - that has risk : Gallstones acid reflux etc - get medical advice 1st. Would be dangerous if you already have gastro issues.
As other (skinny fckrs) say : we know tbe solution - less calories intake and be more active and you will lose weight. I find Mounjaro a fantastic support in doing that.
For me and my wife - its life-changing.
There is the othe question about "why" you are overweight. For us - managing stress by eatjng and drinking and "rewarding ourselves" .
This is the opportunity to deal witb that also.
We look at the injections as a "reset" button.
A chance to relearn healthy eating.
Once we have this under control I will never go back.
... and yes I gave up smoking 40-day easirr than losing weight.
Don't listen to the naysayers - and those that say "eat less"... we KNOW.
Also Scaremongering about side -effects and causing cancer. Look at the research - many drugs can have very serious side effects like cancer in a miniscule proportion.
Do you really think these drugs would be available worldwide if they were that unsafe ?
In UK I trust our licencing regime and Mounjaro is a diabetic drug that has bee repurposed....
